Cam Ward will not need surgery on his shoulder

  1. That means he’s looking at a 3 month recovery period at most (based on the internet doctors at least). He was probably going to take that time off anyway to enjoy the offseason so I’d consider this a huge win for his chances to develop over the offseason and to be ready for training camp. Seems he dodged a huge bullet!

  2. Very confused by this. A grade 3 sprain of the AC joint (worst case scenario; complete tear) is still technically an AC joint sprain. I’m glad the reports are saying best case scenario, but the medical side of this doesn’t make much sense. I’m guessing there must be more info not shared by these tweets.

  3. This is amazing news.
Let’s keep the ball rolling this offseason with good news

  4. Cam, I need you walking on the treadmill and using your other arm to sip pins coladas in Cancun for a minimum of 12 weeks and nothing else.🙏

Cam Ward’s next couple of months when he’s told he can’t throw but still has an obsessive need to get better.

  6. Sub has turned me into a doomer….

This was leaked so the HC hire looks more promising. Year 2 QB not needing surgery on throwing shoulder. Rehab doesnt work and he needs surgery later into the off-season, he misses first 6 weeks then re-aggravates it 2nd game back. Misses the season. Will Levis and Matt Nagy carry us to another top 5 draft pick and the wheels on this franchise keep spinning. Lol fuck me for even writing this.

  7. Great news. I am really hopeful that the actual diagnosis is a less severe injury than initially thought, and not an injury that is right on the edge of needing surgery or not. It would be terrible if it’s right on the edge and they opt not to do surgery, hoping that it’ll heal up, but end up needing the surgery further down the line.

  8. Are these the same doctors that thought Levis would heal on his own without surgery too? Just curious.

  9. Thank. Fuck.

Imagine if we had to play Levis, who’s recovering from a shoulder injury, for a whole season.

  10. Off-season barely started and I’m happier now than I was at any point in the season. Keep the good news coming, don’t blow the coaching search.

  11. Was talking to one of our orthopods at work today about this. He said based on what’s been released Cam should be fine without surgery IF, and its a big if, he can rest it appropriately. He said the worst thing about treating hyper-competitive athletes is that they always want to push things too hard. As far as doctors are concerned its not smart or a flex to get back to things sooner than recommended. So that’s my only worry knowing what we know about Cam’s work ethic. But I also know that boy is smart and if the docs say take it easy he’ll probably find other ways to put work in.
