Brunson defense has been dog shit the last month. It’s been bad but it’s getting Trae young bad lately.
Brown better tighten the rotation moving forward. 9 guys and that’s it. No one can get into rhythm playing 11 guys in and out like it’s football.
We need bigger wings and better defenders overall.
My personal speculation/hot take is that there’s something going on behind closed doors we don’t know about. When a team looks as good as they were and all of a sudden they’re playing like hot garbage, I feel like that’s more than just “being tired”. That’s more than just “they’re missing Josh hart”. Something is up, and if they don’t figure it out it’s not out of the realm of possibility for this season to spiral
The Mike Brown honeymoon period is over
The ball has to be shared more, but on the other side of the coin, they have to want to shoot.
And KAT has to step up his game and be more aggressive defensively. Its inexcusable for him to be there and show no drive to contest.
Brown plays too many guys. When clarkson and McBride/kolek were the main guys of the bench, they were really good. No need for these other guys.
We’re really in a bad place. I understand that we miss Josh, but our offense can’t be so temperamental that without him there is no one else who can create. I agree with others— Deuce needs to start when Josh is out so we have someone else out there with a semblance of handle.
KAT has got to go. Both he and Cap are cones on defense, yes, but at least we can rely on Cap to score. SIX points, ONE rebound, SIX turnovers. If we can’t rely on our supposed second best player to create for himself then what’s the point?
Giannis is my fav player so I’m biased, but that’s the type of talent we need next to Cap in order to win a title. Let’s hope Milwaukee loses their next 5 in a row, Giannis formally requests to be a Knick, and we pack up KAT + OG (this one hurts) for him. Otherwise, I don’t see any tertiary trades that solve the problems this team has
I know teams go through slumps and it’s normal and I’m not saying this is anything more than that. But something has been SO OFF with the whole team since Christmas.
I just do not care about a loss in January. I care that they dont give a damn (or look that way)
