  1. It was one game lol. I think he’s got potential, but the last time he was a main starter he ran out of gas quick. But when he’s on, he’s more than serviceable as a backend pitcher (very volatile though, so no guarantee of it)

  2. It’s a shame he got hurt last year. I’m confident Waldron spent the offseason prior getting stretched out so that he wouldn’t be as gassed going into September the way he was in 2023.

  3. I thought with our pitching troubles it’s weird we never gave him another shot after his 2024 season. Did he completely lose it in the minors for 2025?

  4. Matty was definitely our ace during the 2024 summer of greatness. I think he will be better that Sears, if not better than Randy.

  5. If Waldron fully embraces being a knuckleball pitcher he will have success. Needs to throw it 70-80% of the time. He doesn’t need 5 pitches.

  6. In 2024 he had a 13 game stretch from May 11th to July 19 where he posted a 2.63 ERA in 78.2 IP.

So ya I definitely think he can improve from last year. In fact he should be the bonafide number 5 starter ahead of Sears IMO.
