Enjoyed this this morning . Loved your take with the roster decisions. Makes all the sense. I haven't watched as many games as you, but that 4th line has been really good
The big question to me is does Malkin get 1 more year contract if he takes a discount, and if so why not let Geno sit out and not change whats working. Malkin is my favorite player, but if the team is working fine without him, its hard to justify putting him back in if were winning
For the good of the team, Geno and Tanger need a load management schedule. For mental and physical health and straight up energy. Novak could spell Geno and Kindel. This won't happen, but it's my two cents.
I like the idea with Kovinen,Mcgroarty especially with 12 games in 24 days Kindel exception but I think these young players were always going to be up and down between Pittsburgh and Wilkes Barre
And you are correct 1st and 4th line should not be touched 4th line in name only much more important that line has given this team a spark several times

Yes, it's not exactly the trade deadline now, but Dubas would be smart in continue, as he obviously has done, to look for trades that benefit our team. When fully healthy boy we have some nice players that are healthy scratches, but this is hockey and players do get hurt. Saying that, I still believe we have too many forwards, period. I know the big guy line has been a big surprise for us and with Malkin coming back it'll be nice to see if they'll pick up where they lefted off before he got hurt. Mantha has excessed expectations big time! If I was Dubas I would be looking to teams that are in need of secondary scoring, that they have either prospects that are almost ready, or obviously draft picks to sell while he's at the peak of his season. Work on other teams weaknesses to leverage as much as we can.
Another note, I really hope Chinakov works out for us. That his time in Columbas was such that he wasn't himself and that this new start allows himself to push that ceiling that I keep hearing about. Blessings DK, Victor 🙏
Novak is 6th on the team in scoring (5th among forwards) and is on pace for a 16-goal, 42-point season … he isn't being taken out of the lineup for Koivunen or McGroarty's combined 4 goals. I get the excitement over the young players, but there is a noticeable production gap there that can't be ignored. My guess is Koivunen will got back to Wilkes, and McGroarty will rotate in strategically … for Kindel's load management, for example.
DK, what about putting malkin at center with kindle and mcgroarty??
