This is absolutely ridiculous from the NFL to even consider Matt Stafford to win MVP. Drake Maye leads Stafford in every statistical category except for passing touchdowns. Do the same test with QBR instead of pass defense EPA, and their schedules were virtually identical; Maye’s average opponent ranked 18.6 out of 32 defenses, while Stafford’s average pass defense was at 18.4. While these two quarterbacks faced massively different opposition on the whole, that doesn’t hold true for the pass defenses.”

  6. Great argument, Brett! Maybe the NFL will go with the Co-MVP to save face? That gives them an out for the criticism they would face for the "Lifetime Achievement Award" scenario with Stafford, while still awarding the REAL MVP, Drake Maye-Day Maye-Day!

  7. Brett, I can't remember if you said this in another video, but I'd LOVE to see you put up the stats for what both QBs did under pressure and with sacks! Drake did MORE under WAY MORE pressure, and still the same # of INT, and you can even see how those under duress numbers stack up against the rest of the league too. But yes, Maye was #1 in total yards this year, Stafford is in 3rd by 1 yd over Goff. Rushing yards should ALWAYS count just as much as passing yards.

  8. S.o.s. would be more valid… If Stafford didn't play only 7 games against a top 20 passing defense. 1 game against a top 5 passing defense. Drake played 4 games against top 5. 10 games against top 20 passing defense. So…. In reality Drake maye had tougher opponents. Stafford beat down the 49ers 26th ranked PD, 31st pass rush. And the cardinals 25th ranked PD. The jets are ranked inside the top 20, as well as dolphins. So…. Ya. He got to play the jets. Stafford got to play the 49ers and Cardinals pathetic pass defenses

  11. People that say “mvps don’t win super bowls” don’t have common sense. Out of the 14 teams In play offs only 1 qb is mvp so that means if the mvp doesn’t win the Super Bowl then 12 other none mvp don’t win the Super Bowl too

They don’t want to give a second year quarterback an mvp even though he deserves it instead there giving it to a 37 year old cause oh that’s so cool by a37 year old and because of the “schedule” they give it to stafford plus stafford has a stacked team although the pats do he has best receivers while drake may does it with new receivers

  22. Why does the qb with the 2nd worst record in his own division deserve mvp? Especially considering he has two elite weapons?? If you lose the division you have should have no shot at mvp.
