They need a GM who’s bold enough to just tank and give the bulls a new identity
It’s been like this since the DRose era. Sadly, we’re all too familiar with this take.
At this point either the team gets sold or we pull a Kangz situation and tank on accident. I think the latter is way more likely 😭
Bulls talk starts at 22:06
I stopped watching. And I used to watch during the Dunn, Lavine, and Lauri days.
Facts
We were a .500 team and people complained about being a .500 team led by veterans. They wanted to tank to be bad so one day maybe we’d be a young team that’s .500
Well we are. We just kind of skipped the tanking part at traded for some older young players like Giddey, Jones, Okoro, etc.
The goal posts are constantly moving with this fanbase, and the national media knows Chicago fans love to listen to them shit on their teams. It’s a weird kink, but Chicago fans love it.
Theyre not as bleak as some of the bottom feeding teams. Just an owner ok with being mid which i guess is bleak in its own right.
It will be like this at least until Jerry’s gone. We know.
Bulls need to trade Coby right now for a 1st or two 1st round. Plenty of market. I don’t think anyone will buy Vooch for a 1st + salary filler. Probably just need to let him finally expire. They should sign Ayo to a 6-8 rotation player level of pay (MLE ish?) or trade him too so he doesn’t walk for free.
Otherwise the team is playing young players, and they are developing. Draft the right players, not the fit. Re-tool next year around Giddey & Matas. The developing players should be getting the shots/assists, not Vooch like Stacey harps on to a fault.
100%
Problem starts and ends with ownership. Jerry doesn’t give a shit about winning anymore, he’s happy selling out and collecting profit sharing. If the owner doesn’t care it doesn’t matter how good of a gm or head coach you have.
We all know what it is, how it is and why it is. It’s no mystery.
Whaaaaa – has Kirk goldsberry not heard the gospel of Chicago’s lord and savior, Josh Giddey. How he came from a land filled with draft picks but brought with him not a single one. And the blasphemers would say “oh, but wouldn’t a draft pick be a more cost effective asset to amass better players“ but will they not realize that having Josh Giddey is like winning ten number one draft lotteries!
Do they not see how he has the potential to be the best pg in nba history despite his lack of defense and shaky handles?! How he will amass more triple doubles than the big O and lead the the Chicago bulls into a new golden age of 4th and 5th seeds (granted that he’s playing next to a better center, shooting guard, and power forward all of which we will aquire via….. Umm… Don’t worry about that part).
Bleak? Pshaw! Bleak would be having old man giannis on your team…Who would want that! (apparently not the bulls)
I, for one, am looking forward to all the great discussions about why everyone but Josh Giddey sucks on the bulls for the next 4 years.
