[McCaffrey] The Red Sox have made what they feel is a competitive offer to Alex Bregman, and a source confirmed Buster Olney’s report that the offer is “aggressive.”

  1. This smells so bad. It reeks. Oh my gosh. Who is taking these reports at face value anymore?

  2. If Red Sox made their best offer for Bregman and he is still looking for more, then make an offer to Bichette, apply pressure. I want Bregman, but if he’s looking for something we won’t offer, then switch to Bichette asap.

  3. I like it… make the offer. take it or leave it. we are still talking to others too, we aren’t waiting around forever

  4. Boras has too many players that too few teams want to sign he can’t let anyone “go first” because then the little demand there is will drop. He’s definitely playing the whole market at once.

  5. Season’s been over for two months now. If he wanted to stay, he would’ve signed already. But he doesn’t want to stay, he wants to get paid. I’ve been a staunch Bregman supporter but even I’m starting to lean more toward Bichette.

  6. Then why the fuck isn’t he signed, Jen?

Sorry, she’s probably nice. We’re all just annoyed with the wait.

  7. He’s not coming back. If he was he would’ve signed by now and we wouldn’t hear these reports. Money not enough.

  8. I don’t understand everyone in this scenario. More years makes no sense for the red sox, and less money makes no sense for bregman. Bregman shouldn’t be the guy in your line up honestly neither should bichette they both benefited greatly from their old teams by not being the best hitter in the lineup.

  9. “Agressive” is in the eye of the beholder. I’d make the aggressive part based on milestones and incentives. Boras won’t likely want that, though.

  10. Well the ball is in his court then. Bregman waited until February last year to sign, and supposedly had better offers on the table. Still think hes back here eventually. Just dont see a mega deal out there for him.
