I think the rangers are the only organization as dumb as we are
I suspect we’d need to package something more to get a first from NYC but honestly that would be so worth it. If they crash and burn we’re gonna benefit greatly from that, and even if they don’t it’s still worth it.
I can also predict the entire NYR fanbase hating this since they’re not even above the wild card cutoff at this point after those injuries.
I understand JR wants to maximize return, but I just want a trade to get any return.
Id want the rangers first over the canes. Although knowing our management we’re probably targeting an injury prone player.
The Rangers, Bruins, Isles, and Kraken are the teams that control multiple 1sts. The Hawks, Flames, and Sharks do too but I’m not sure they’re buying rentals. If any of the 4 want to give up their late 1sts (Canes, Leafs, Avs, and Lightning original picks) it’s another late 1st but gives us the possibility of moving up.
