I just need a break from the coaching discussion. My question is do we need to resign Wan'Dale? He's going to cost somewhere from 15-20 mil per year. In the Cowboys finale, we saw Gunner just put up 8-102 in the 'Wan'Dale' role. I know it's against the Cowboys defense, but it just made me think that we could easily sign someone in the offseason to be our slot (or draft someone), and put that money to stopping the run with a D-line or linebacker signing. Part of me is thinking how much better our offense would be if we replaced Wan'Dale with Tate in the draft.

I feel like WR wise we need 1 more good outside target someone 6-2 and up. So I feel we should resign him have him as theme third WR/Slot
I really wish there was a way to lift and shift Slayton’s money to wandale
Using a week 18 result to justify not resigning a player that functioned way above his pay grade in an injury riddled offense is interesting.
I think we should resign him, as he proved he can play outside and make players. Nabers back on the field with him would be a great 1-2 combo.
Yes he’s short and the arms, but he’s proven he can produce anyway
No I’m not a huge fan of tiny receivers. We have slayton for another year at least and we have nabers. If we keep Robinson it’s the same WR trio we had this year obviously the nabers injury but even with him we are one nabers injury or bad rehab away from being in the same situation. Get rid of him and go grab a true outside WR then nabers can move around and be a motion guy.
I’m ok with signing him, but only the $$ required works with other priorities and draft intentions. I can’t see him being the priority of the offseason. I’d hate to see him leave but it’s really a business decision in my eyes.
No. I’d prefer to draft a WR2 and use that money elsewhere on the roster, like LB and OL.
Depends on the price tag. Good player, but imo not a huge priority signing for the giants.
I would like the giants to have a receiver that can line up inside and outside, so that the giants can move Nabers everywhere on the field, similar to how Lamb is used.
I know Wandale played a decent amount of outside WR this year, but that was more out of necessity.
I think this team needs to stop letting talent walk away for nothing. We need another outside receiver even WITH Wan’Dale and Nabers back. Letting him walk and drafting Tate (or similar) does not make this team better, and there is nobody on the FA market that will replicate his production at lower cost.
The dude’s good and tough and wants to be a Giant. I hope we take advantage of having Dart and Abdul on rookie contracts and retain him.
No
Robinson is a wr3 who got elevated to a WR2 due to Nabers going down for the year and Slayton missing a few games. He is the exact guy you replace with a 2nd/3rd in the draft. I’d much rather a WR get beingg signed as a true opposite of Nabers or using our 1st since I don’t see any CB as a blue chip
Leave it up to the new coach.
Resign him, we’ve let enough good players walk to other teams
Not for the money he is going to ask for, this team cannot owe Robinson/Slayton 96+ million.
Let him walk
Giants can draft a WR
We already paid 2 wrs. He won’t stay here as on a wr3 contract.
He’s got to go
I say no.
Yeah pay him as long as the price is fair. Only 2 of Slayton’s years are guaranteed. So one more year until he’s cuttable. We can handle one year of paying them both especially with Dart, Skatt and Malik on rookie deals
I wouldn’t mind having him back as a slot reciever, but I don’t think the giants resign him
Gunner playing against 2s and 3s for half the game…?
Yes. Excellent slot option.
Only if it’s responsible cap wise
Put in some void years push money back fuck it
Him with Nabers would be best case scenario. Hope Slaytons contract and butter fingers don’t screw us out of it.
Yes
Yep, don’t let talent walk. With Nabers not being 100% at the start of the season, I don’t want Slayton being the only continuity.
The Giants absolutely should. Nabers will not be 100% next season. The Giants will still draft someone @ 2 or 3rd round. To think we will replace his production with a 3rd round pick is a bot dangerous. We have a 3rd round receiver at home (Hyat) and he can’t see the field.
We have the highest paid defense this year and right now second highest next year or vice versa i heard earlier. We need our d to play to their pay scale. Sign wandale let Hyatt and Slayton go.
For the right price
No. Eluemenor First. Wandale second.
Don’t get me wrong, love wandale. But imo re signing him shouldn’t be first priority. Need to make sure the line stays tight. Can’t let eluemenor walk.
I agree we should resign him only on the condition we can have our cake and eat it too(we need to upgrade like 5 positions)

Wan’Dale right now.
He doesn’t drop the ball so hopefully

We’re not willing to pay him what he’s asking for, which is upwards of $20M/year.
Whendell
If we can’t, then we need to release Slayton because he’s so fucking ass.
Duh, resign our 1000 yard slot receiver? Nawww
I think Slayton can be dropped after the new season technically starts and the hit won’t be too bad.
That said, you resign Wandale and draft a big bodied receiver to put outside. A couple great options in the draft are available.
Nah, no need. I guarentee gunner can put up similar numbers and I’d much rather draft the first corner off the board than a WR2. I feel like the offense is in a fine spot but the secondary and linebackers need to be the focus.
Need? No. He’s a nice player though. I think giving a big target like Hodgins an opportunity would be best for the young QB
Use that money to resign Eluemenor , once signed you could move him to right guard and draft a RT/RG. Slot receivers are easily replaceable.
No
Yes.
Sign him and everybody else we need. Good teams keep good players. 10-20mill in void years is basically nothing. Letting him go BC of cap is strait up negligent. Letting him go Bc we don’t think he’s worth the money he’s going get is another story. In that case we MUST sign another slot receiver. This constant shit of letting players go and not filling their spot and expecting a rookie or washed player to fill their shoes is exactly why we suck. The cap is bullshit EVERY good team knows it. Giants fans are so scared of void years bc of gentlemen ptsd, but this is how every good team STAYS good or even gets good. If other teams are spending 40M more than us every year how do we expect to not be a 5 win team. Keep fucking wandale, we have a base to work with, let’s keep the pkayers we need.
Yes but we won’t because bonehead Joe gave Slayton a big bag. Good thing he’s still in charge tho!!
I would love to resign WanDale if we are able to. He has great chemistry with Dart, great attitude and he works his ass off.
At the right price sure.
He produced in his role this year, and elevated when Leek went down. His archetype as a small receiver that maneuvers the defense out of the slot isn’t one that successful teams pay a lot of money for. Hes not an elite one on one separator like Zay Flowers or Steve Smith historically. Theres more of a role for him in the league today than there has been in any offensive era before now, but I don’t think there’s a significant gap in ability between WanDale Robinson and Jacob Cowing as a point of reference. Significant gap in opportunity sure, not in ability.
I think he’s a case of “well someone had to catch the ball”
