TRADE CHATTER: Giants COULD pay a PRETTT PENNY for Edward Cabrera | OLD Moves MASKED as NEW Moves

The Giants are suddenly being linked to some of the biggest remaining names on the market — but what does it actually mean? According to John Heyman and Mark Feinsand, San Francisco has been connected to breakout starter Edward Cabrera and star outfielder Kyle Tucker, even as the overall free-agent market continues to stall. We break down why this offseason has been quieter than expected, how inflated early projections may have missed the mark, and whether the Giants’ patience is strategic or simply a sign their biggest moves are already behind them. Plus, why rival executives believe San Francisco still needs bullpen help, potential upgrades at second base and right field, and whether Buster Posey and the front office are positioning themselves for a late surprise — or settling into what they already have.

  1. I really despise wealthy people who buy sports teams just to diversify their portfolio. They have no interest whatsoever in the team they bought other than it’s a source of income for them. The Giants, it seems are more interested in real estate. Really unfortunate.

  2. I knew I would get burned by the timing of a deal eventually! Edward Cabrera to the Cubs right as my episode was uploaded lol thanks for watching everyone, back at it tomorrow!

  3. …People want the Giants to be the Dodgers… They want the Giants to go get Bichette and Tucker and Skenes… THAT WAS NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN. reality time…
Bichette is a crappy SS, so what I hear you say, he hits and we can move him to 2nd base… Dude, his defense is so bad that he profiles as a DH, so make him a DH… you know who else also profiles as a DH, Devers AND Eldridge… what this means is if the Giants sign Bichette he probably has to play 2nd base. on the other hand, Tucker/Bellinger are perfect fits, the Giants DESPERATELY need outfield, but they want 10-year contracts. I've said it so many times but here we go again… If you believe that the Giants window is RIGHT THE FUK NOW (you're an idiot) then the Giants should go ALL IN, Give tucker and Bellinger the bag and sign the best 2 free agent pitchers available, go WAY OVER the luxury tax and try to win right now. For me to be convinced of that:

    1. JHL has to bounce back and hit at least as well as last year, and he has to be an above AVG center fielder.
    2. Ramos has to bounce back and hit at least as well as last year, and he has to be an above avg left fielder.
    3. Chapman has to hit better when it matters, he was terrible with RISP
    4. Adames can't be WORTHLESS for the first 3 months of the season again…
    5. Eldridge has to play at least an acceptable 1st base and he has to hit, I want at least a 250 avg, no more than 25% SO, AND 30 HR's.
    6. Bailey has to be a league avg hitter. PERIOD. IDC what he does defensively if he is a WRC+ of 66 again…
    7. Devers can't hit .236 with 31% SO (that is exactly what he did as a Giant after the trade, if you don't believe me look at his 2025 splits, its right off the Giants website)
    8. Webb has to be Webb, Ray has to be what he was last year, and Roupp has to be what we hope he is, also Walker has to bounce back and be good again…

This isn't even the full list, I just decided that was enough… If all of this happens then Adding Bellinger and another good arm in the rotation might be enough to make you a real contender… does anyone think ALL OF THIS is likely to happen, cuz if it doesn't the Giants are lucky if they make the last wild card, more likely they are a .500 team again.

  4. Actually, I'm glad the Cubs got him. I don't like the idea of trading prospects with potential for other prospects with potential. If the Giants aren't going to spend money to get a real starter, I'd love to let their young arms like Birdsong or Whisenhunt pitch – if they struggle then so be it, but we need to see what these guys can do. As for the 2 new pitchers added to the rotation, they sound like stop gaps at best.

  5. There are a lot of mid-tier FA out there that nobody's heard of, but the Giants aren't going after anyone. When the Athletics have done more than the Giants, you gotta question it.

  6. Seems like Giants fans better be happy with who's there now. It looks like there will be no newsworthy signings before spring training. Hopefully Eldridge can turn into a Freddy Freeman clone and anyone in the outfield can morph into a Kyle Tucker clone. Hoping for those things is all we have.

  7. Flabbergasted! Flabbergasted!!!!

Hey, we brought Barry Bonds over from Pittsburg, so that was our big move this offseason. 🤦‍♂️

Giants are willing to win, but they will not do what’s necessary to force the issue.

  8. There was a lot of criticism of Ben here, because 'boring' and so on. However, your flaw is a kind of sensationalism. Where was the evidence that the Giants would pay for any of these big names? Ownership is indeed frugal, and that means – unless five key players have career years – no playoffs again.

  9. Strong close at the end. I will stand and shout till the last man's out that they were wrong to extend Chapman and that the Great Rebuild — a HARD unmistakable rebuild — should have started after 2024.

But if I'm wrong and if the Giants are in a position to "win now" and if that's what their goal is, then they're not taking steps to make it happen.

They're in that comfortable middle .500 lane that another YouTube host illustrated and that's the worst of all possible places to be.
