  1. Stuart Fairchild was the bat they promised 🫠

They aren’t spending money on FA or Kwan, making the playoffs validates their strategy..!

  2. This team has glaring needs that, for whatever reason, refuse to fill beyond "internal development." Arrogance? Indifference?

Businesses don't operate on just one strategy. The team has a problem developing league average hitters left or right-handed.

Some people think this is a black and white issue. Development vs FA and trades. When one avenue fails, you need to pivot to another to fill your deficiencies. This team is reluctant to do that. This is why the "Dolan is cheap crowd" is getting frustrated. We all understand the constraints of this team financially. We also see the failures internally when it comes to development or any risk taking to any degree to make improvements in any other way, shape, or form offensively. Both points voiced by both Justin and Jeff on this podcast.

Yes, we have several prospects ready to prove themselves. I am excited to see what they can do. But, they are just that, prospects. Is this front office going to allow them to play every day? Or are they just going to platoon them and hurt their development? If we are to go off their recent history, they will platoon the crap out of this team this year. We are not even getting into the staying healthy issues that some have.

We are coming off of two division winning seasons in a row. What is the strategy to build on that? At this point, it looks like cutting payroll. As a fan that tells me they don't believe this team is worth investing in. Be it in cash or trades. There is still time to make improvements. I will be the first person to celebrate if they actually take a risk and make a trade for a decent everyday position player that can HELP this team. But if they do nothing and sit on their hands, it will just pissoff and alienate more fans.

If this front office would ever say anything about their plans, there would be less frustration with fans. I would understand if they simply said we don't feel we are in a window of contention and will we be retooling. Instead of coming off of two successful seasons, which rasies fan expectations for a higher level of success the next season and do nothing and just cut payroll.
