Cleveland Browns Head Coach Search: Why Former Ravens HC John Harbaugh Is the Name Everyone Wants

The Cleveland Browns are searching for their next head coach, and John Harbaugh is the name everyone is talking about. Will the veteran Super Bowl winner take over, or is it time for a new, next-generation coach to lead the team?

In this episode of Ultimate 216, we break down the latest official Browns interview requests, including Todd Monken and Aden Durde. We also discuss why John Harbaugh’s Ohio roots and AFC North experience make him a top candidate, and how his background could impact the franchise’s direction.

I also share my personal candidate list — Brian Flores, Mike LaFleur, Jeff Hafley, Joe Brady, and Chris Shula — and weigh how each fits into the Browns’ future. Drop your thoughts in the comments: who should the Browns hire? Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and hit the bell for more Cleveland Browns coverage.

  1. I don't think Flores scheme is gonna affect Schwartz if he stays, the Head Coach is supposed to Lead the team, not just the Defense. They could work great together complementing each others style…just a thought

  2. Five (5) Reasons why Harbaugh to the Browns, will be his best move… YES‼️

🏈1. New Stadium to play in and for the Super Bowl Trophy 🏆 that the stadium will eventually host,

    🏈2. Top 5 Defense,

🏈3. The opportunity to get revenge by beating the Ravens, twice a year, every year,

🏈4. and be the first coach to lead the Browns to their first Super Bowl 🏆 win and many more‼️

🏈5. A chance to duplicate and accomplish what his mentor, Andy Reid, was able to accomplish in KC.

It can't get any sweeter than that… 😀💯🏆🏆🏆🏆

  3. Harbaugh is attractive… however, he is 63 and has been a head coach for 18 years with the Ravens. Why he may not be the best fit. #1 reason – The average age of nfl head coaches is between 47 and 49. Andy Reid is 66, and Pete Carroll is 74. Both, while successful coaches, are at retirement age, i.e. for head coaching jobs. Harbaugh may also be at the same point in his career. It takes a great deal of energy, requires long hours, and creates huge stress… probably not the best combination for an older person.

  4. 1 California CU Auntie born and raised in Cleveland. Been waiting for success since Bernie. Shedeur is Bernie 2.0. Was Harbaugh interviewing for the job in his pregame interview? Did you hear him talk about Shedeur? He has watched all the CU games. He tried to draft him. Instant connection between he and 12. Hire him, BROWNS!!!

  5. 1 thing about John Harbaugh he knows how to find good players in the draft . That's 1 thing the Browns been iffy on in reason years . Get John and a young proven offensive coordinator and keep Swartz as the DC .

  6. I’d give Harbaugh whatever he wants. But, if he’s smart he will go to the Raiders.
    1. They have the first pick. They can get Mendoza.
    2. Jeanty is legit. So is their TE.
    3. Tom Brady is there.
    4. They have tons of private equity money.
    5. IT’S WARM. Why freeze your butt off in Cleveland?

  7. Good Morning
TY for your opening- needed to hear that positivity 🧡🤎 heading to yoga 🧘🏼
Living in Las Vegas but was born in Cleveland- that’s where everyone says – ‘I’m Sorry’ – lol jk 🤣

  8. I’m with Earl here… go after him with everything you’ve got. The biggest selling point TO him would be to come “home.” Take it from a similarly aged guy… that’s appealing 😂 No there’s not as much to lure him, particularly dealing with Watson’s insane contract, but one side of the ball you wouldn’t have to worry about would be defense where there’s another just-past-middle aged guy you can hang out with. 😂

  9. I wanna hire someone to keep Schwartz. I would even give him a second shot since he didn’t do great in Detroit. He may have learned and he’s been around this team so long and is respected. So he might be a good head coach. But he is the best defensive coordinator. So whoever we hire I wanna hire an Offensive guy maybe Monken would work. He’s already experienced Cleveland. But we need to keep Schwartz. I thought when Tennessee fired the staff we should have immediately gotten our Line coach back because he is the best line coach in the NFL and we had injuries in 2023 and he overcame them. We have had issues every season like 2023 but we’re NOT able to have the line work well.
