Our rotation is a laughing stock apparently. They critique the FA choices and the money given.

I, too, critique the choices made for our rotation
Cool. I’ll take your word for it. Not listening to any of that.
Okay 👍
I mean, yeah. Their main signings (besides a theater) have been The Wrong Tyler and a guy whose most watched highlight is a video of him booting a grounder back to the mound and then vomiting all over the place.
I can’t argue with any of the points they make. We’re basically stuck in the worst place you can be.
Okay, but let’s look at those other clubs’ real estate portfolio and see who’s laughing then.
I mean are they wrong?
MLBTR is a good podcast.
I was also struck that on the Baseball BBQ podcast, another smart and not-hot-take-driven show they talked about Imai as being an obvious fit for the Giants above all others by a wide margin, which was a sad thing to listen to alongside the news that he signed for a very reasonable amount of money with another team and no evidence the Giants even made a good faith effort.
They’re right and wrong at the same time. It’s not like this pitching free agent class is great by any means. And the only real frontline starter is Valdez and he is questionable in his ethics.
They’re gonna roll with what they’ve got now and hope Eldridge busts out and helps carry the offense with Devers, Adames and Chappy.
Webb, Ray, Mahle is a solid 123, assuming Mahle and Ray are fully back from injury (as they should be).
Houser stinks.
Roupp and the other kids. Who knows????
The main issue is how are you going to squeeze 800 innings out of this crew? Even if nobody gets hurt at all that’s a stretch.
So then you’re piling innings onto a bullpen which will probably be fine but not a “put this team on our back” group.
It’s not great.
Fair
Hey at least they have VIBES MAN
100% agree with their take on giving that same money to Imai over Mahle/Houser
Pretty much every relevant giants insider, podcast etc has criticized our moves.
Shaping up to be a very forgettable season
Good. It’s been an embarrassing offseason
We had the #1 bullpen last season with multiple all stars, and we fumbled it away somehow and now we’re weak with a bullpen whose gonna carry way too large of a load.
It blows my mind that our ownership is hamstringing Posey and using him I feel like not as much for his job skills as our FO guy, but use and abuse the love the fanbase has for him for goodwill while they cheap out and max out profits.
Yeah but have you seen how much fun they’re having in Korea?
The most important part is that he’s right about Adames and Devers in the context of these offseason moves. If picking those guys up basically means there’s nowhere to look to fill the gaps in pitching and right field, can you even call those good signing moves anymore?
Obviously Devers and Adames are stars and glad to have them but still
Wow. They really got ripped in. Pavlovic is palpably unhappy as well. But these are just journalists. You have to have faith that the scouting team has more knowledge than three podcast hosts. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I found it slightly depressing though.

Rightfully so.
