[Fangraphs] 2026 ZiPS Projections: Los Angeles Angels
January 8, 2026
Besides Neto, they don't have much hope for us.

None of this should come as a surprise if you truly follow this team.
I would say “Arte should be ashamed” but it’s likely he doesn’t give a fuck at all.
ZiPS has said the same thing about this team for the past decade. Basically boils down to if everyone stays healthy and hits their projections they can compete for a wild card spot. That falls apart the second they have to dig into their depth. Go into the season with low expectations and maybe this will be the year Lucy doesn’t pull the football.
So just so we’re clear, our amazing “young core” is:
A very good but not amazing SS who might be an All Star replacement someday
A catcher who can’t catch (or hit 4 months out of the year)
The reincarnation of Casey Kotchman
A literal question mark
A one tool corner OF whose realistic ceiling is the other one tool corner OF we just traded away
A starting pitcher who hasn’t made a start since 2024
A starting pitcher who hasn’t thrown a pitch since 2024
Our best pitcher who half the time is our worst pitcher
And a reliever whose only goal in life is to throw 110mph and doesn’t care how many ligaments he tears along the way
If they enter the season with this roster, Neto should be on the trading block.
