Mookie 2.0
Remember when in return we got back a reliever with an 8.00+ era who's still on the roster getting paid $26 million dollars? Idk what money Henry thought he was saving by trading Devers, when they decided to take Jordan Garbage Can Ticks in return.

Oh people are gunna be mad at you đ
Fans will defend this because they took on contracts St. Louis wanted to get rid of.
Full throttle
Wow, billionaires lie? My mind is blown.
Remember how itâs January and half the top free agents arenât signed yet and the few we actually want havenât signed yet. We may blow it, but you canât call the race before the starting gun
I said we wouldnt sign a FA before January 6th.
I really hate defending Henry, but do you guys think that Sonny Gray and Contreras are free because we got them in a trade?
There’s still time, but yeah what the fuck. Imagine if they only signed players around the edges?
Tbf they DO have the ability to spend more. They just choose not to. If you’re trusting anything John Henry says I don’t know what to tell ya.
He didnât specify what team though
John Henry is an idiot.
âI think weâre an offseason away, I really do. I mean, I really believe we have the ingredients to take a run at this thing…â – Sam Kennedy, October 2024
Bregman and Bo still havenât signed yetâŚ.
They’re going to be over the tax for the second year and seem likely to be over the second threshold. Fans like OP want to whine more than they want to watch the Sox play good baseball.
To be fair theyve taken on a lot of money for 2026. Also, would you be any happier if they signed Michael Lorenzen? or Adrian Houser?
I have it on good authority that Tzu Wei Lin and Devin Marrero are keen on a return. Each want approx 150/5…..Just say the word, I will pick up the phone.
Trading Devers also helped free up space to extend Roman, so itâs not all just about FAs.
Lets wait until Bregman & Bichette sign to start making any declarations for this season.
If they bring Bregman back then this team actually improved a decent amount and has plenty of ammunition to acquire another frontline starter or 2B if they have to.
He we go again with this. đ
Remember after that trade we made Roman an every day starter and made the playoffs?
They extended Anthony and spent 47 million on adding gray and Wilson. So in terms of this yearâs payroll theyâve added 63 million onto the payroll with just those three contracts for 2026. They are sitting 9 million or so below the first cbt which if they add bregman they will far exceed.
I get still being mad about mookie, it was one of the worst trades of all time but raffy is no where near the player that mookie and it became clear that whatâs best for the team wasnât his priority.
Eh I think they might be playing the market right on bregman. I hate it too but I think itâs gonna work out anyway. Just wish they had more pitching on the way. They have a bunch of number 3/4s and crochet
They were interested in it though
offseason isn’t over yet. the players who are left were expected to hold out as long as possible

Does trading for and taking on the contracts of players not count as spending?
Who says they wonât? Last time I checked, the season doesnât begin until March 26. Bregman signed last year in mid-February.
I don’t particularly care if they add payroll via trade vs. FA. Obviously at this stage they still need to land a FA bat. If they don’t, I’ll criticize them for it. Until then, it’s whining just to whine. We went through this exact thing last offseason.
Kind of a nonsense take, it’s not as though the Sox have done nothing this offseason. They haven’t signed a FA yet. There’s still FA left. It’s January 8.
No throttle
what a stupid ass post lmao
I swear that half this sub just wants to see people signed and spent on, regardless of whether or not we needed them or it helped improve the team overall.
