Should the Orioles add a utility infielder? | Banner Baseball Show
If there’s one thing you can be sure of, it’s that the Orioles won’t enter the season with three right-handed hitting first basemen. Carrying Coby Mayo and Ryan Mountcastle on a team that already has Pete Alonso would be a waste of precious roster space. But once the O’s clear up the logjam at first, they could add depth to the left side of the infield.
“Banner Baseball Show” co-hosts Paul Mancano and Jon Meoli discuss some free agent options at second base, third base and shortstop.

Mayo is duplicative until oft injured Westburg or God forbid Alonso gets injured. I totally can't figure out why so many are ready to piss him away. If he had played a full season last year he would've ended up being our top homerun hitter.
Bring back Urias
6 homers in 69 games NICE
Jeremiah Jackson can play 3B/2B/RF.
Taveras all 3 OF spots.
Mayo 1B and power bat off the bench. He came up as a 3B, are we certain he won't get another chance there? Mountcastle as backup 1B if Mayo is traded. There can only be one.
Beavers/O'Neill platooning OF or Basallo/O'Neill at DH is the last bench spot.
If you aren't comfortable with JJ or Taveras on the bench then go get Willi Castro for max versatility, or Urias if you specifically want an infielder. You can also let Taveras play mostly defense (new Daniel Johnson) until Bradfield Fabian or Trimble are ready to be called up
