Really need a 3b badly

  1. Gonzalez, Cruz, Triolo, Mangum and Bart all had an OPS+ lower than 100 so I’m not sure why this should get the 👀 emoji

  2. That’s at best an 80 win team, missing out on the big piece at 3rd really downgrades what looked like a promising offseason.

  3. Don’t know why so many people focus on Triolo as a starter over Gonzales as a starter. Gonzales is just factually worse than Triolo.

They need to add a 3B so Triolo can slide to SS and Gonzales can slide to the bench, but that can also be accomplished by getting a good hitting SS.

  4. We do but Mackey just said on the fan that he doesnt see them really adding anybody else. If you believe that he knows what he is talking about that’s unfortunate. Trusting Triolo or Gonzo would be tough.

  5. Unless the Bucs are willing to overpay by a few million, I cannot see Suarez agreeing to come to
    Pittsburgh.

They are likely going to land Moncada for $5 M and try to convince Caratini to sign at C. Moncada and Triolo would likely be an OK platoon at third. Maybe not great but far better than Triolo alone at third.

  6. I mean I know Moncada and Suarez are not ideal at all, but they’re worth taking a shot on for hitting purposes… Triolo can’t be the starter again

  7. A normal front office should have thought about that when trading away Ke’Bryan Hayes. Or at the least drafted one. Ben Cherrington should have been fired by now. His best days are long behind him.

  8. With how stacked the rotation is this really isn’t a bad lineup, but they would 100% benefit from upgrading 3B and (if ready) letting Griffin start at SS

With each passing day it becomes clearer that Triolo is going to be an everyday starter
