MLB offseason: Where does Ryan O’Hearn fit into Pirates lineup? Is Ben Cherington done adding?

Post-Gazette Pirates insiders Jason Mackey and Colin Beazley break down the latest topics surrounding the team’s offseason.

Now that he’s been formally signed and introduced, how does Ryan O’Hearn fit into the Pirates lineup? Will he and trade acquisition Brandon Lowe bring some much needed power to the Pirates?

Jason and Colin also break down GM Ben Cherington’s recent comments. Is he done adding to the team? Or will he find more hitting through another trade or free agent acquisition? If that’s the case, who would our duo like to see them take a look at?

  1. What are the 2 of you going to do now that the paper is closing? Sorry that the PG is folding, I so remember checking the sports pages in the 1960s otcheck to see how Roberto did the night before!

  2. I love you guys. terrible news. hope there's some world in which you are able to continue covering the Pirates in some way, shape, or form for my own selfish reasons cause you guys are awesome. all the good vibes being sent your way. thanks so much guys.

  3. I don't get the Josh Jung trade idea, hes penciled in as their opening day 3B, and haven't heard anything about them replacing him

  4. I like Bohm and Paredes. Bohm has been signed for $10.2. Parades has a hearing scheduled and is projected to be around $11M. He has nowhere to play there anymore and has the most power. He is a younger Suarez type for better or worse.

  5. Jason/Colin – really enjoy your work. Love listening and reading. I will miss these greatly has I travel a lot for work and listen to your podcast. Keep up the great work guys!. If it ends, I will just like to thank you for getting me through some miles.
