15 straight losses in our 15th year. Almost seems like fate at this point.
I was a little kid when my dad taught me to hate the NHL over the dispersal draft
So that means we draft another Hawerchuk this year
The silver lining is that the Jets clearly aren’t as bad as this year might suggest. Keep our high first rounder to come into the team quickly, draft depth with the rest or trade for better depth. Should be competitive again next year or year after.
I believe it was EXACTLY 40 years ago today the Calgary Flames had an 11 game losing streak snapped when Jim Peplinski scored in OT & Calgary beat Vancouver 5-4.
in Jan 3 2019 the Blues were dead last in the NHL, on the back of a hot rookie goalie, Binnington, the Blues won the Cup so more hope for Winnipeg, it’s not over yet team is too good

Later that year Calgary knocked off the mighty Gretzky/Messier Oilers in game 7 of the Smythe Finals and went to the Stanley Cup finals against Montréal. They lost to Montréal in the 1986 Stanley Cup finals (Brett Hull made his NHL debut for Calgary in the Stanley Cup final) so there is hope for Winnipeg still.
