  7. Kind of like the idea of giving performing GR players a chance with the big club. Exposure, pay bump (depending on the contract), and the crowd. It’ll also help GR when they return (which is what I assume will happen)

  13. I know this sentiment has been posted already, but I’ll add my (worthless) two cents:

    The way Detroit welcomes former opposing players is nothing short of complete class.

    Not just Kane, but other guys like Hull, Chelios, Todd Bertuzzi, Perron, even Cat, they just get embraced by the fan base, and it’s amazing to see.

    If only the rest of the world could be so accommodating.

  15. Small rant but some Chicago fans are so infuriating. I don’t know why/how they see his speech as a betrayal. He gave 16 years to the hawks helped them win 3 cups and the organization basically kicked him out. Kane however has no ill will and still lives in Chicago does lots of events there. He trains with Chicago players and even skates around at their development camp.

    I don’t know why he can’t share the love, he has the right to love Detroit and be thankful that the organization gave him a chance. Chicago has moved on they’ve made that clear so why can’t Kane? I’m glad he’s moved on found new friends and players to help. Also why would he mention Chicago in his speech to the red wings, plus his speech wasn’t focused on the past but more the future. Anyways I just find it strange and annoying, if you’re angry blame the organization that’s doesn’t want him. (Sorry just needed to get that off my chest)

  18. that Raymond stat they showed on the broadcast last night was insane. Third youngest player in franchise history to hit 300 points. Everyone else in the top 4 (Yzerman, Dionne, Howe) is in the HOF

  20. Not sure if this has been discussed, but the company that owns FDSN basically went bankrupt, and the Tigers pulled out of their contract with them. Not sure if we know how this affects the Wings (or Pistons) yet but that’s going to be a story to monitor

  25. If we are looking for bottom 6 utility how about bringing back Vladislav Namestnikov? Jets are struggling obviously and his ice time was dwindling to the point he got scratched last game. Scored already tonight in his first game back. Seemed like a guy who loved his time here too. Another year at $3 million

  30. I’d be glad to be proven wrong over time but I don’t see Danielson having any offensive upside. Should be packaged in a trade while he carries the value of being 1st rounder.

  32. Not that I wasn’t already familiar with Jar of Flies (Alice in Chains) because I bought it for a reason, but it’s great for a quiet winter night and Nutshell has an extra special feel coming out of speakers on vinyl.

  39. TIL that the actual last guy cut from the Miracle on Ice team, Jack Hughes, played for the NHL’s Colorado Rockies team from 1980 to 1982. The Colorado Rockies moved to NJ and became the Devils where unrelated Jack Hughes plays.
