  1. His compensation should have significant bonuses for winning the division and winning playoff games

  2. Obviously.

GB has always waited to extend coaches until they are in a contract year.

  3. Smart decision. Yeah, end of the regular season (and probably playoffs) is disappointing, Matt had this team at 9-3-1 before injuries became too much to overcome.

I have a bigger issue with Gute and some big blunders he made putting together the roster.

  4. Better not be some 1 year extension like they did McCarthy – that will just kill the ability to rebuild the D after Hafley leaves.

  5. The Packers generally do their leaking through Rapaport. So I think it’s likely coming directly from the team. They are probably getting sick of this conversation.

  6. Without an immediately apparent better prospect out there I see why

MLF is proven to be pretty good, rolling the dice on someone untested who could possibly be incredible is risky. If suddenly Kyle Shanahan wanted to come to GB I’d be receptive but IDK if there’s that many proven people out there without a job at this time

  7. Hopefully accompanies an off season conversation about making the necessary changes at coaching a year early instead of a year late like we are known to be with letting players go. Something has to give with getting a real OC and switching things up at ST. I like Matt though.

  8. My co-worker is dead set that he will be canned if they lose today. I just could not follow….

  9. Honestly this is the smartest thing they could do. I’m not really seeing anyone out there that I would pick over LaFleur, despite his faults. I think he’s got the locker room behind him and even though this season has been a little disappointing after the start we had, I’m honestly really hopeful for next year but still looking forward to beating the Bears tonight.

  10. Only smooth brain fans think he should be fired. No one better out there at the moment. Resign but make it HEAVY in goal based incentives

  11. Interesting, I was kinda thinking his seat might be hit next year unless we go on a real run to the Super Bowl or something this year.

He puts together some great offensive schemes though so it would be tough to replace him with someone better on that side of the ball.

But I’d also say that record is a little misleading with 2019, 2020 and 2021 doing a lot of the heavy lifting there with an mvp Aaron Rodgers having some of his best seasons.

Since then, over a 4 year stretch which is a significant sample size we’ve gone 37-30-1 with no division titles and 1 playoff win heading into today with a chance to add on. Is that good enough? Idk. Is it all on him? Of course not. But to me if next year we sorta limped to a 7 seed again I’d start to wonder what we’re really accomplishing here.

  12. Honestly good

Firing him is whatever. But who would you get that’s an improvement? That’s the issue

  13. With the amount of teams looking for a hc, I feel that replacing MF would almost certainly result in a downgrade.

  14. #I WAS TOLD HE WOULD BE REPLACED BY HARBAUGH BY A NO NAME INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT

(if anyone is mad about extending MLF please pass your season tix down to me instead of cancelling them 🥺)

  15. weird time for this to come out, since our season won’t end for almost another month

  16. Hes a good coach, but we gotta raise the ceiling. The Bears, Vikings and Lions have all won the division more recently than us.

  17. Should of gotten it done earlier if thats the case. Its going to cost alot more now. Harbsugh is going to reset the market. Rumor is he wants $20 mil/yr.

  18. Stipulate that all red flags remain out of Matt Lafleur’s reach at all times.
