Good speed/contact when healthy. Down year last year, but not bad for a 4th OF
We made a trade? Who are you and what have you done with the real Colorado Rockies?
Love it. Grosz was the worse player they got in the McMahon trade and McCarthy has plenty of upside.
Another OF? Doyle going away?
dbacks fan here, i do not like this trade at all whatsoever like truly loved mccarthy even after a down year, he’s was so good in 24 that’s the type of player he is
Low risk potentially decent reward move. Probably means Doyle is gone though.
I though we were supposed to be trading OFs for pitching, not the other way around
Gives us better depth for sure
Who is he replacing??? Yanquiel?
Idk why some of y’all’s first assumption from this move is that Doyle is gonna go because of it. He’s not our only OF, and certainly not our worst either. I wouldn’t panic just yet
I like it. Bolsters outfield depth, maybe a guy that we can get a half season out of, especially if we move Moniak or something.
dbacks fan! excited for Jake the Rake to pop in Colorado. hope he kills it !
Good move.
Wait… we’re making sensible decisions? What happened? What happened to the real Rockies?
Nice young controllable player that seems to fit the mold of good defense, speed with some contact. Just needs to develop some consistency and stay healthy. Easily flippable if he gets hot and teams start to call. New management must not be too high on our AAAA OF logjam.
Going to trade one of the other outfielders
Rockies need to acquire a new owner in order to have any chance of being competitive! An owner who cares about baseball not one who wants to build Wally World at Coors Field to sell tickets! I don’t care about roof top bars and entertainment how about spending some money on players who will bring Colorado a winner!!
Speedy XBH hitter in Coors — we’ll see if a philosophy of designing a team around the 81 games played here has legs
I really like this move. A while back, I did some data analysis and I ranked hitters by how many extra runs (RC) they would have if they played half their games at coors using park adjustments and changing the woba weights to match the Rockies. Based on 2024 stats, McCarthey got second of all qualifying hitters. FanGraphs shows that while he regressed in 2025, a lot of it was bad luck. I wouldn’t mind having him start in order to shop Doyle or Moniak for more pitching. The moves I have seen so far show that is a new direction for the team and I am genuinely excited for the next few years.
