  1. I think its easy for fans to throw guys away but they are people. The organization doesn't give up on guys that they think have value or still have value. A guy like Tristan Casas. The guy has been a big disappointment. Hes been hurt, his conditioning has been sub par and quite frankly he has WAYYYYY underperformed..but hes big, left handed and has great potential..and hes still cheap so hes worth giving another opportunity in the very least to build him up as a tradable commodity. We have alot of evolving young talent that may be future stars. I get it. The fans want established guys that can put us over the top immediately but the cost of some of these free agents might be prohibitive going forward compared to guys that we already have that may be just as talented but they are younger and cheaper. If a deal out there makes sense and it's the right fit then fine but we can go into next season and if we need something then we have until the trade deadline. All teams are hopeful right now but by next years trade deadline losing teams will be looking to unload good players for young talent or picks. I like our young talent and these guys have been together. They want to stay together if it can help us win.
