A lot of mutual respect between the Rose Garden crowd and KD last night after the latter passed Wilt on the scoring list. Durant said the following during his postgame media availability on the RG ovation and Blazers fans:
“…Portland is just such a classy classy city for recognizing me in that moment and honoring me. The fanbase here just loves basketball, regardless. That was a warm reception and I’m grateful for the fans here. I appreciate that a lot…”
Good job Rip City

Coulda, woulda, shoulda….but he probably would have bailed on us like he did OKC.
His next chapter
If POR does somehow end up in the playoffs against HOU, I wonder if the sentiment would be the same? 🙂

Rip City knows ball…. mostly.
I havent always loved KD but you’d have to be an idiot not to recognize he’s one of the best to ever do it.
Gonna be a sad day when he retires.
They could never make me hate Greg Oden but man…what could have been
Classy + W, gotta love it
Blazers acknowledged Booker becoming the Suns’ franchise leader in points too last season, which he was very appreciative of.
It was a very cool moment to witness.
Cool that he also dapped up Mark Mason, who is also a legend.

Soon
Sort of thing that makes me always proud to be a blazers fan. Congrats KD. Those were two hard fought games.
Maybe he can pull a Melo and play for us several years from now. At that point him and Dame could both be great players off the bench and support our All-Star starting lineup

Just wish we would have drafted him instead of Greg Oden. Could have celebrated his accomplishments while he was wearing a Blazer uniform
KD always puts on a show when he plays in Portland
It’s refreshing to be acknowledged for being class acts by one of the greats. Proud to be a part of Rip City
No way, I was there hooting & hollering with some buddies!
The announcer made the announcement retroactively while KD was either coming back from a timeout or he was subbing in. Everybody started clapping and then slowly arose to a loud cheer.
He raised a hand up to the crowd at the check in table after wiping his shoes in gratitude – which somehow fed to the energy and we all grew louder. I remember the boys shouting “You’re a legend KD!!” I followed it up also yelling loud from section 307. The crowd was then hyped from that moment on and subsequently for the rest of the game to help our Blazers get their fifth straight 💰
He is a Legend and deserved all the ❤️🌹🏀
