Pat's just there as filler, so the real goal is Coby on a cheaper deal (given his recent injuries it's likely they can lowball him for an extension) and the picks are the ideal. Ja's cutting with Giddey's passing would be a match made in heaven, I think.
It also fits AK's mindset of getting young guys who were starters elsewhere but now need a new scene. Also since we're likely at worst a 8th seed with Ja the FO doesn't care about the picks.

Why would you give up picks for Ja? Trae didn’t net picks. Luka didn’t net pics.
Ja might but the shine is off his stock.
no way Ja gets 3 first round picks if Young didn’t even get one
Why would we do this move? We need draft picks and should not be trading them away for Ja. He is injury prone and has a ton of off the court issues which he has already been suspended for by the league. This trade does nothing to move the organization forward.
Ja’s contract is **not good**. Why are we giving up so much?!?!? (especially after Trae got traded for some expired coupons)
I don’t even get the Ja appeal honestly. He’s washed at 26 and can’t stay on the court.
I like to think that not even the Bulls are dumb enough to do this.
If we gave up 4 picks for 2026 Ja Morant I would legitimately quit being a fan of the team.
Echoing others, no picks for Ja. But I wouldnt mind moving some guys for him.
Players who are often injured, have attitude problems, and declining athleticism do not yield 2 FRP’s let alone 3. Horrific trade idea.
We don’t need Ja. He’s done being impactful. Injuries have taken a toll and we don’t need that bad attitude. This is stupid like you said

hardest pass
Ja is a waste of space. Dudes gonna be kicked outta the league again when he does dumb shit again. Doesn’t care he’s in the NBA. Cares about being gangster instead.
A bunch of posts here are saying “why are we giving up picks for Ja?” It’s more about giving up picks to get them to accept taking on the trash we’d have to send them. Coby is the only worthwhile player and he could walk in the offseason. Why would they take any deal that would mean giving up Ja without some sort of long-term benefit?
Bro no
At this point isn’t Giddy a better point guard. Unless Ja is a defensive mastermind. The Bulls should spend money sending Giddy to a defensive masterclass in the offseason. Ja is a poor man’s poor man’s Derrick Rose. Not sure if we could take him straight up as we would be moving off of Giddy at point guard and might as well trade Giddy at that point. If I’m doing that I’m asking for money and draft capital.
Maybe like a 3 team trade. Vuc to the GSW, Kuminga, White, Giddy and GSW 2nd to the Grizzlies, Ja and 1st to the Bulls.
wow this is awful
We’re trading for Zion apparently
Still time to delete this terrible idea
No way this isn’t trolling
This trade is disgustingly bad for the Bulls lmao
You really giving up your entire draft capital and cap flexibility?
Bulls fans need to grasp reality this organization isn’t interested in supporting superstars they literally stated you could win without one.
Giddey and Morant is a very stupid pairing. They’re too ball dominant to fit together, and neither shoots or defends particularly well.
Is it an impossible fit? Perhaps not, but instead of trading for a star point guard and trying to make him play shooting guard, how about just look for an actual shooting guard?
I don’t think we need to give up nearly this much. Analysts around the league think GMs believe Ja Trae and Lamelo have the same trade value.
And shit if you ask me, Vucevic (expiring) and P Will is an equal trade package to CJ McCollum (expiring) and Corey Kispert
