If this is whistled as a standalone penalty shot in the NHL, then I already know why no national team from Canada or the USA can ever win anything. It’s because in Europe referees actually officiate hockey, while in the NHL referees officiate basketball

I'm a goalie, & from my perspective you can see McDavid was going left side on the way in . Despite that tell,he puts it right where he wanted to anyway. Goalie had no chance on that one .
