INSTANT REACTION: C’s come up short vs. Spurs in ‘PLAYOFF BASKETBALL IN REGULAR SEASON’ matchup ☘️

Chris Forsberg and Eddie House join Tom Giles to offer instant reaction and analysis following the Boston Celtics’ 100-95 loss to the San Antonio Spurs to fall to 24-14 on the season. In a game that felt like a potential Finals preview for much of the time, San Antonio, led by Victor Wembanyama, made enough plays down the stretch to pull out the win, outscoring Boston 12-4 in the final 2:55 of the game. Then, Brian Scalabrine and Drew Carter join from courtside at TD Garden to share their thoughts on the game.

  1. JB with costly turnovers again. He played a complete game and filled the stat sheet. Our best player. ..but he needs to be more careful and aware when dribbling the ball.

  2. Expected this to be a tough match up. Sheierman played really well tonight. Wemby is just a lot to deal with on offense and defense but Celtics will learn a lot from this game.

  3. These guess we’re happy to have a close game and that it was good to be in it to the end with the spurs. But as a Spurs fan I was thinking the same thing about the Celtics. I would have been just as happy if we lost but it was a close game. 😂

  4. Certainly don't want to go to pieces over a back-to-back loss to a very good team, but it's hard to swallow losing a winnable game because of their own stubbornness. What the heck was going on between Joe's ears not putting a center in the clutch on their 7-4 center. And why is JB (who's been having an all-time season) worried about posterizing that same 7-4 center instead of attempting a better shot. Once, I get it,
but my guy better stop hearing those MVP chants. And if PP and Simons are afraid to shoot the ball in these situations, please sit your behinds on the bench, I'm sure some of those guys who don't get minutes will be glad to. When you've come so far as they have, it's painful to watch these types of self-inflicted wounds.

  5. JB and Mazzula you are just second rate! Kornet greedy bastard! Again sloppy joe Mazzula – problem holding leads and 4th quarter disaster as usual! And Celtics again 3rd in eastern conference!

  6. The referees gave the Spurs 20 FTA & Boston only 4. Boston had 36 points in the paint and San Antonio 40, yet the foul discrepancy is massive. On one end there are phantom calls, & on the other JB gets hit on his drives with no whistle. Wake up, NBA

  7. Spurs fan here (my son-in-law is a lifelong Celtics fan). I saw the game and hated the Spurs' game plan early on, trying to out-3pt-shoot a Celtics team with a much higher 3-pt percentage. Just stupid. The Celts outplayed and outshot my Spurs for 3 quarters. Both teams played excellent defense all game. But the Spurs played well enough to stay close and were able to turn it in the 4th. Celts on a SEGOBABA, and Spurs fresh. These are two good teams and Celtics are turning back into a contender quickly. Still proud of Derrick White and thankful to get Luke Kornet (what a gem of a man).
