Demko has been placed on IR

  1. Man, I feel for Demko. He’s a total professional, but just terrible fortune when it comes to injuries/durability.

  2. Friendly reminder his extension hasn’t even kicked in yet. Another fantastic move by this management. Very good stuff!

  3. That was fast, concerningly fast actually

I feel so bad for the guy. Flashes of such talent and potential, but his body keeps failing him

  4. I mean, I guess it will work out to have him not play for the next 3 years while having his contract around to hit the cap floor. 🤷‍♂️

    McKenna this year.
    DuPont next year.
    Repeat in 2028.
    Repeat in 2029.

Now we have something to build upon that is sustainable.

  5. Im tired of him, the say we handled this goalie situation (signing both him and Lank, losing Artor) is a fireable offence

  6. And his contract doesn’t kick in until next season. So Vancouver is paying Pettersson 11.6 million for poor play. Vancouver is paying Brock Boeser 7.25 million per season for poor play. Demko is about to make 8 plus million in 2026-2027 and he’s made out of glass.

  7. Incredible.

You couldn’t write a worse script for this management group. How could they spend an entire season focusing on nursing Demko back to health and come into this season and go “yeah, extend this man, his injury days are over!”

  8. This really might be the year we actually draft in the top 3 and don’t get hot at the wrong time. Everything is aligning. It might be aligning for next year too.

  9. So management said they already knew in the offseason that Hughes was unlikely to sign an extension. Why did we rush to extend Demko? A pure desperation move to keep Hughes?

  10. Didn’t have to do this contract, didn’t need to do garlands and sure as fuck didn’t need to lock up boeser for a lifetime knowing the slowdown was already happening.  This organization has dug their own hole, gold job

  11. Massive win for the tank. Demko tho might be cooked as a player. Just cannot stay healthy. Shame.

  12. Season from the depths of hell continues true to form. Even had a mini win streak in there to give us a glimmer of hope (or dread if are of the team tank persuasion).

  13. I feel sorry for Demko, but I feel it’s a good chance for Tolopilo. He’s a decent goalie, maybe just needs to play more games in NHL. I think it might be good for the team considering the situation (we have nothing to lose… except McKenna!)
