Falcons have interviewed Kevin Stefanski for Head Coach

  1. It seems like we’re done with Kirk based on the restructure but it would have been interesting to have Stefanski 2 years ago.

Kirk was very very good under him in Minnesota.

  2. Dan Campbell watching his former OC take the Bears to the divisional round, and Bowles sitting at home after firing his current OC watching his two former successful OCs Canales and Cohen in the playoffs is exactly why we have to hire an offensive minded HC, whether it’s Stefanski or Kubiak (my personal preference). Niners can survive cycling DCs every season, but could not survive without Shanahan. Same with the Rams and McVay.

  3. I’m generally positive on this.

On one hand, he had a losing record in Cleveland, but that franchise is an even bigger dumpster fire than ATL with an even worse QB situation over his years there, yet he managed to win 11 games twice. He’s been named AP Coach of the Year twice since 2020. Plus, I know the past two seasons have been poor, particularly on offense, but they have no weapons. They seriously may have the worst overall offensive roster in the NFL. What was Stefanski supposed to accomplish with that bunch?

And I certainly understand the desire to hire an offensive mind as the next HC.

I like the idea of hiring Stefanski better than rolling the dice on Kubiak.

  4. Dear Eight Pound, Six Ounce, Newborn Infant Jesus, don’t even know a word yet, just a little infant, so cuddly, but still omnipotent Jesus…keep Stefanski away.

  5. I think its wild seeing so many people not being open to this. Guy is a 2x coach of the year vs what we have dealt with coaching-wise for a very long time. I think Stefanski would be one of the better options available.

  6. I guess the way I feel is this would be a very “Falcons as usual” hire. A lot of “if-thens.” As in, “well if Stefanski only had a better team, then he would have done better.” It feels like accepting just ok instead of great. And I’ve had enough of that with Raheem. Arthur Smith also felt like accepting, “well we’re the Falcons, we can only hire so good a coach.”

I don’t want to just shrug and accept anymore. Everyone knows who the best hires are in this cycle – Harbaugh and Kubiak. Let’s go for broke and stop accepting.
