It’s finally time to refuel. This is our last chance to save this franchise. Now that AD is basically worthless, we have to lose every single game to secure a top-5 pick and put a co-star next to Cooper Flagg.

Shut AD and Kyrie down for the rest of the season, trade Gafford and Klay, and take another run at it next year.

  1. I’m not broken at all. This is what life is, it’s about challenges. OKC didn’t cry like a bunch of babys when they lost 3 future HOF players. They got to moving, and made trades, and dilly and dally with the roster, collected draft capital, now they’re champs. We can’t lick our wounds, we have to get up and fight. And we have a ton of trade pieces on our team to make things happen. And I agree with losing all of our games and just put the ball in CFs hands and let him fail or succeed, but don’t stop it.

  3. Couple of things:

    Tank is full steam ahead, refueled, operating on jet fuel now.

    Kyrie should probably take the season off and come back next year completely rehabbed.

    No chance anybody offers AD a max extension again, and if he decides to stay a Mav for a reasonable extension, that’s a win.

    Edit: forgot the most important point – we already have Cooper fucking Flagg, the 1A blue chip prospect teams tank years for.

  4. In a way, this might work out for us for the better. Realistically, we wernt getting much for AD and may not have even traded him. Coop plays much better when AD is out and we can run everything through him. Now, we are pretty much guaranteed to get a lottery pick this year. Worst case we are stuck with AD for a few more years but can likely get off in summer

  5. Remember when the Cavs lost LeBron and got the number 1 pick two years in a row. That could be us right? right????

  8. Yup! We didn’t need much help with losses, but now it’s gotta be full blown tank to get into that top 5 odds.

    There is no guarantee there will be interest for AD this summer after yet another long-term injury. We gonna have to get under the tax somehow, so yea Gafford, Naji, and Klay for as much expiring contracts plus picks. I think a center needy team will give you at least a 1st. I think Naji has worked his value up that a playoff team could value him enough for a late 1st. Klay, maybe some 2nds, but most important just need to get off his 2026-27.

  11. Honestly this isn’t even that bad for us. Basically guarantees we will have top 5 lottery odds. With AD shut down for the year along with Kyrie, we are easily a bottom 5 team in the nba. Find a way to trade Klay and others and we have a shot at bottom 3 lottery odds.

    We don’t have our pick in 2027, AD will be in essentially a prove it contract year next year to show us or another team to trade and extend him. Kyrie will be fully healed and ready to go, and we will have a top 3-7 pick with a year 2 Flagg. AD would probably be like the 3rd best player on the team.

    I think we can be pretty good next year while having a decent young core between Lively, Christie, Flagg, and whatever elite pick we draft.

  12. Peterson repeated muscular injury concerns are lowkey worrisome. Don’t want to deal with something like that all over again. We need a Top 2 pick, ideally top 1 (AJ clears Cam). It’s the season for Greedy dreaming.  

  14. This team needs to get shameless. This lottery pick is our second most valuable asset, we have to maximize it.

    It’s time for the fans to fully root for losses and lottery balls. It’s time to get serious about the future

  15. Reduce Cooper’s min to 25 a game(reduce likelihood of injury) but jack up his shot attempts by 3x and we’re good. This is the optimal way to tank but yet get Cooper ROTY. lol.

  18. This very well may the best possible outcome for a horrible situation caused by the worst trade in NBA history. We still need more draft capital and cap space but the vision of suckitude the rest of this year could not be clearer.

  19. We need to move Gafford ASAP. Force Powell and Cisse to play all of the 5 minutes and were basically guaranteed to lose almost every night.

    Also helps he seems to be in high demand. Probably can get a decent draft pick for him.

  20. Tanking is not an option for the mavs, this is what i love about the mavs, even it the team is at its wits end, they still scratch and claw their way out, plus the will get a top 5 pick XD

  22. I am no t happy AD got injured but I am glad we can tank in peace now and not trade him. Finger injury on the offhand is not that serious. I would love to see Kyrie, AD, and Flagg play together. Also seriously trade Gafford. He is beyond ass now. We can get picks for him atleast.

  25. I heard this upcoming draft is even more stacked than last year’s. Give us one of 1-3 to go with coop let’s go
