Maybe I’m thinking too much into this, but I woke up today and noticed Ben changed his pfp on IG to just a black square.

Furthermore, on his IG stories, he posted a photo dump of (what seems to me) memories as a Pacer.

Lastly he’s wiped everything from his bio too. Not a mention of the Pacers anymore. Nothing.

It feels like something is happening… Thoughts?

  1. I think we are still about a month away from the deadline. But if we do trade him, he better go west. That’s the type of dude who will kill us multiple times a year. Then average 12 against everyone else

  2. Like it or not, the Pacers front office now has to pivot to focusing on Fall 2026 with Tyrese’s return and integrating a new draft pick and whatever trade they end up making to make us a contending team again.

They got a pass this year due to the injuries, but I think all of our expectations are a top 5 team in the East next year and we have some holes to fill right now.

  3. Thats what it looks like. Honestly it just depends on what we get for him in return. We could use a good big or a pure scorer like him thats consistent

  4. Something may be askew, but it was really nice seeing him so positive on the bench last night.

  5. This makes me really sad tbh. I really like Benn and think he’s gonna be a superstar somewhere else

  6. The prophecy was cemented when I bought his black City Edition a few years back. Sorry guys. Every player I buy a jersey of ends up leaving.

  7. His pfp has been a black square before, right? I had the same idea as you but Nembhard also just posted a lot of professional photos and videos to his story, which makes me think the players just got sent some good stuff from the team photographer.

  8. Probably nothing.

His small contract number ($9.1M) makes it challenging to put together a deal with him that makes sense for us. You’d have to start adding in guys like Obi, TJM, etc. if you’re trading for another player who’s not also on a rookie deal.

If he’s going to be traded, I’m still thinking it’s as part of an off-season S&T.

  9. I don’t think so. I made a post about this a month or 2 ago, he regularly has nothing on his page. Apparently it is something he has always done.

Also, click on his story feed, it is loaded with Pacers highlights right now.

  10. He’s done this before……

(that’s how I’m reassuring myself as I cope)

It’s my fault, guys. I bought his city jersey so obviously that meant a trade was inevitable. I apologize.

  11. He’s done this a lot. I can’t say it’s nothing because I’m not in the organization but I remember him doing odd stuff with his IG before like this

  12. He was wearing a Pacers jacket on the sideline last night—what does that mean o great seer? Oh we just gonna ignore all evidence that points to him being a team guy?? You all are going to make him feel just like Turner. There always has to be someone the fan base is constantly dreaming up trade rumors about huh?

  13. Just noticed this and immediately came to Reddit to see what was up. Wouldn’t be surprised if this is a reminiscent farewell post.

  14. Love him but we need to move him—he just isn’t the right piece for us. I just hope he doesn’t play heel like a certain Lego enthusiast

  15. Social media reset…his entire reel featured Pacers and his repopulated photos also feature the team.

    We good.

  16. I wouldn’t doubt it. Unfortunately, with his injury and lack of production, he hasn’t garnered a new contract from the Pacers, nor have any teams really knocked down their door to trade for him. He’s a good player, but with a new stud coming in, they just need to make room. Plus, he probably wants to be a starter eventually, so a contender can definitely get him cheap.

  17. Nah, he has done this several times. I think he does it to concentrate, esp during the times when trade rumours or contract extension were at its peak.

i think he’ll turn it back on once the deadline passes.

  18. I think it’s immature and childish to make a bold claim like that not knowing:

    A) Who they will get in a lottery projected to be historically strong.

    B) Who they get from this “absolutely vital and important key player” of their team.

I’m suggesting that the sum of those parts will be greater or equal to Mathurin’s production as a player on this team.

  19. His page has been like that for a month now. He turned off comments though because of all the loser haters pouring trash can emojis in his comments.
