Update on known HOF ballots has Andruw above the 75% threshold. There’s typically around 400 voters so 60% of the ballots are either private or not yet filled in.

Maybe this is my casual side showing. but how is King Hernandez and Dustin Pedroia struggling to get votes. I remember and maybe I am misremembering but wasn’t Dustin one of the best 5-tool players the league has had?
He’s looking good so far, but the eggs haven’t hatched yet.
Last I looked, he’s up by eleven votes from last year on known ballots. Last year, he missed the Hall by 35 votes. While the number of voters may fluctuate, it stands to reason the Andruw still needs about 24 people to change their minds.
I’m pulling hard for Andruw. That’s a mainstay of my childhood team! I do think this is his year, but it’s not over yet.
I don’t understand how time really affects his worthiness. The greatest defensive CF of all time and over 400 HRs. Just put him in the hall already
It’s criminal he isn’t already in. Please make this right HOF voters.
I still think there’s no shot. If I wasn’t a braves fan I wouldn’t vote for him. Still I hope he gets it go Andruw and go braves
Because peak aside, neither player has the counting stats or the WAR that many voters see as being “HOF-worthy.”
Felix’s bWAR would be the lowest by a HOF starter since Jim Kaat, who played primarily in the 60s and 70s and needed the Golden Days Era Committee to be inducted (nearly 30 years after his retirement).
Dustin is also well below the normal marks set by HOFers, and while there are some notable names below him in the WAR list in the Hall, those guys also needed either every year on the ballot (Jim Rice notably needed all 15 years of eligibility before the BBWAA voted him in in his final year on the ballot) or were inducted by a committee.
It’s only their 2nd year, so they’ll get votes and likely be in eventually, but they’re both far enough away from the normal HOF marks that it’ll take a couple years for them to really take off
Private ballots _should not be allowed_.
Wasn’t Beltran part of the 2017 Astro’s cheating scandal? I’m surprised he’s got so many votes.
Andruw Jones was so good
How Beltran is getting in quicker than Andrew and at a high percentage is wild to me. They are basically the same player except one of them is largely considered a top 5 defender at the position.
Also, I’m still upset Dale Murphy hasn’t been inducted yet. That is a crime
Seems ridiculous to me that AJ didn’t get voted in his first or second year of eligibility. The BBWA voters who didn’t vote for him are basing their decision solely on the rapid decline he experienced from 2007-12. Playing CF can do that, man. Not to mention his own personal decline.

That being said… how can anyone bypass:
10x Gold Gloves
5x All Star
400+ HR
1,200+ RBI
150+ SB
.992 FP
24.4 dWAR (most by any outfielder in history)
