7. My original opinion was let him finish out his contract and give him his respect for giving himself to the team. His contract was earned and I think he’s doing everything he can to honour it. Come next October this team will be hard to make for a few people. Teams trending well with many youngsters and potential trades might force him out. I wouldn’t trade him. Let him be around the team we need em. He’s been a real one from day one.

9. It is becoming the “Gally-phant” in the room. I love Gally, but he’s 1/2 second behind ALWAYS now. Costing us games . Start with healthy scratch or “day to day injury”. Go from there. If his cap hit was $2 mil, that’s one thing . . . But it’s over 3 times that. He has to understand that.

11. I think you are wrong about Gallagher! He may not be scoring as much as one might want but he is a 3rd + 4th line player, they are not expected to be the leading scorer on the team! As for him being tired…. NOT… Gallagher is a work horse, he usually is first into the corners and he digs in the corners and usually comes away with the puck!
    There are many times Gallagher starts a play but is the 3rd assist in the play!
    There is no one else in the league that stands in front of the crease like Gallagher, he gets opposing players to take penalties! Right now Gallagher is playing around 13 minutes a game and is only a 1 on the +/ .
    Not exactly the numbers of a slowing down player!
    Gallagher will a Canadiens player until he retires!👍

21. I'm reminded when Denis Savard was a healthy scratch and regulated to bench coach for the 1993 run. Manage his minutes on the rotation seems like a respectful conclusion for Gally.

24. Gally is still the heart and soul of the team and his importance goes way beyond his production. He is still a leader and a useful player albeit in limited role. Sitting him every few games to give him rest might not be a bad idea.

    I would never want to trade him, but the only reason to consider a trade is his cap hit that is becoming an issue when all the injured players are back. And the same goes for Anderson and Laine. Both useful players I’d love to keep, but the cap is not their friend at the moment…
