  1. I think to me a good trade is one where the guy you traded for can be traded again for about the same amount of assets. So any team (Pistons) that goes after Trey Murphy, yeah you might overpay a bit, but worse case you can trade him in a year or two for probably similar value (maybe you trade 3 picks now, but he's worth 2 picks in 2-3 years). However, trading for guys who aren't like that like AD/Ja/LaMelo/Kuminga/Lauri are all more risky propositions or older, then you are risking losing assets for a guy you can't trade back. Thats what I think the Pistons should not do. If you can get a guy you think will be there in 5 years with your guys and has value now (Trey Murphy), any trade you do has to exist alongside your window of the next 5 years. Not narrow it to the next 2-3. That's what the Rockets did and its not looking great for them. Detroit needs to realize the East will be trash for a while, not just this year. So I would only think a Trey trade would work

  2. Jaden Ivey is scoring at his most efficient rate (58% TS), on similar volume (minutes adjusted), lowest turnovers, and best defense of his career and the team has been a lot better when he's on the court (on/off court differentials). That seems surprising to most compared to the eye test. But it is quite impressive given he was out and in rehab for over a year. We certainly haven't seen the best of Ivey yet. And the evaluation of him is quite pre-mature at this stage.

  3. Bryce, the story of those November/December splits for Duren is a very simple one: the opponents were total garbage for a dozen games in a row!

That stretch covered most of November, and that's why the stats were so good: Duren being good against shitty teams and shitty against good teams is just what he does, it is a continuation of a trend from LAST season.

  4. Be patient with Ivey. He hadn’t played in almost a year before he came back. Then he tweaked his knee. It takes time. Fortunately our team is deep. Unless he’s included in a deal for a mega superstar (not Michael Porter jr) just keep him. What do you have to lose? His trade value is low anyway.

  5. I’ve been saying Duren is not the guy… he’s turned back into sloppy big who gets stripped by Peyton Pritchards. He wants Max dollars and I swear if this team pays that money, it’s cooked and they aren’t winning a damn thing! They’ve been the better teams when he’s out and Paul Reed literally had 28pts and 13rebs in some games 😭 Duren is not that guy and is far away from being worth max money

  6. 6:00 i agree that the caris hate has been largely undeserved. hes not some explosive 6 man but he makes shots, he controls the offense when cade is off the court, and he's not a terrible defender. On the other hand ivey has been playing so small. i was at that clippers game and with that being his first start his impact was small and i walked away thinking that if cade isnt back against the suns i wouldn't be surprised if ivey isnt starting
