Seems like MLF hasn't lost the locker room. I've seen some other players endorse keeping MLF too.

  1. He’s a good coach still. I think there probably is a real worry that if we did move on from Lafleur that the next coach can be way worse and we can regret moving on from Lafleur. That being said I do like Lafleur but if we do keep him he’s gotta fix a lot of things that he’s struggled with. Team has to be better disciplined and he’s gotta have them capable of playing all 4 quarters. Also he’s gotta stop being loyal to a fault with his coordinators. Rich bisaccia has to go and he should let the front office help him at replacing Haffley assuming Haffley gets a head coaching job. Out of all the coordinators under Lafleur the only good one has been Haffley.

  2. The thing is.

Id be fine with him staying if they get a new OC.

Hes buddies with McDaniels and maybe they could offer him a package to come to GB. Get his mind focused with just worrying about the offense and bring some new ideas into the locker room.

If McDaniels could come to GB. Light a fire with this offense for a couple years…. he could have so many new opps for HC positions in a few years.

Outside Baltimore. I dont think any of the teams with openings are that attractive.

  3. He’s a good coach but his refusal to adjust at times keeps him from greatness.

How many times you going to RUN it out of shotgun on 3rd & short for a loss???

Not to mention none of our “trick” plays ever go off smoothly. How many times do we see it get blown up in the back field? Every time. Every. Single. Time.

  4. I have no idea where this idea that he lost the locker room came from. Love immediately said he wanted him back as HC next year.

The worries and criticisms are valid completely and if they did move on, I’d understand why. but this fanbase is insane for the level and amount of reactions to this. I’ve seen people say they would no longer attend games, LOL, really?

EVERY nfc north fanbase wants us to fire him because they know how good he can be. An Anonymous nfc gm already came out and said the packers would be “incredibly stupid” to fire him.

I have a feeling the organizational philosophy will change collectively. With Gute, policy and MLF all taking blame with a plan together. Maybe that’s play calling duties, maybe it’s special teams, maybe it’s all the above.

  5. If GB is keeping LaFleur they really need to get rid of Stenovich as OC. I think Butkus should be on the first bus to Chicago as well.

  6. Hearing things like this make me ok with keeping MLF, but some change needs to happen. The special teams coach and/or OC needs to go. Along with the obvious McManus. People need to be held accountable for one of the worst playoff 2nd half meltdowns in NFL history. Somebody needs to go and not just a player. It wasn’t a regular loss. It was that kind of game where franchises need change and things can never go back to the way things were.

  7. I’m fine with MLF getting another shot as long as the contract doesn’t stop us from moving on from him as early as next year.

I also wouldn’t be opposed to the Packers moving on from Matt. I can understand that we were simply too injured in the latter half of the year. It is still disappointing that his team blew such a strong lead to the bears twice in less than a month.

I think next year his bare minimum for keeping his job would be finishing higher than the 7 seed and winning a playoff game. He needs to show that he hasn’t plateaued and if he can’t then I’d rather try to find someone else vs keep squeaking in and losing early.

  8. Unless I hear something that’s reported from a player about his status with the players, I’m not believing anything about him losing the locker room.

Anyone saying that without a source is someone that’s never played sports at a high level.

  9. For anyone who didn’t see the full clip, he basically said that 1) part of the reason why he wanted to come to Green Bay was because of LaFleur, and 2) only so much of the blame can fall on the coach for a game like this Saturday, following up by stating that players on defense and special teams need to be held accountable for failing to execute since his personal philosophy is scoring >21 points means the offense did their job

  10. The problem is Lafleur doesn’t learn from his mistakes. He bangs his head against the wall over and over with his predictable offensive scheme expecting a different result..

  11. He’s lost certain players… specifically the ones who were in the locker room on Saturday who are set to be free agents. The injured ones like Parsons and Kraft are still 100% in on LaFleur.

Have you ever been around a player who wasn’t 100% all in on their coach? They don’t last long with their team. It’s not surprising for players to publicly speak out in support of their coach, in fact it’s expected.

  12. MLF is clearly a mixed opinion right now. But I think quite literally everyone should be able to agree that special teams needs completely redone. RIch Bisaccia should have been finding his own way home with McManus at this point.

  13. he hasn’t even won the division since 2021. he must have some blackmail on some of these guys because he does not deserve everyone acting like he’s the second coming of football christ

  14. All I know is there needs to be a massive culture change in that locker room.
I don’t think finding a new HC is necessarily the right answer, I don’t really think there’s anyone out there that’s actually a better fit either.
But I do think MLF has to be the leader of change. Look at what Ben Johnson has done for the culture in Chicago, it’s insane.
New OC, new Special Teams, get some fucking dawgs out there and change some shit.

  15. If the players want him to stay, then he isn’t going anywhere.

Just give us an actual OC and a ST coordinator than can improve the unit. PLEASE.

  16. We had the defense. We had the QB. The receivers. The running back. The only pieces missing were cornerbacks, kicker, and leadership. If Micah is saying keep MLF it sounds like he’s taking responsibility for leadership. Maybe MLF should learn to kick.

  17. If the players are able to talk sense into him, then great! Players should hold their “authority” figures to the highest standard.

Not be rude or mean, just constructive criticism and willingly help them get better, just as the coaches do for the players.

  18. I’m legitimately glad to read this, but I mean really what else did you guys expect him to say? Parsons is getting paid a trillion dollars by this team. Of course he’s going to be supportive of the head coach.

  19. If I were a player on this team, I wouldn’t want the coach to leave either, given LaFleur “gentle parenting” approach, allowing players to constantly do the same shit over and over again (ex: Nixon and his love for personal fouls without any repercussions…that we can see, at least)
