  1. Keep both. Both are still improving and not yet at their peak. It’s a really good situation for the Nets to have.

If the Nets draft a big-man in 2026 who would compete for minutes with Claxton or Sharpe only then would I consider trading one.

Or a godfather offer for either which is unlikely to occur.

  2. I’m a huge fan of Day’Ron, as you can tell by my flair, but Claxton has taken a huge leap this year. Also, those metrics for Claxton are mostly against starters, and Sharpe’s are mostly against bench players.

I’m still really high on both of them.

  3. This was literally Hartenstein before the Knicks, btw. Always trust the graphs. IHart was stuck in a backup role in LA, while every impact metric was blaring out “this guy is awesome!”.

    It’s time for Sharpenstein.

  4. I think we’re starting to get to this point, but I’m a little hesitant to immediately put Day’Ron over Clax. Clax has been a steady starting center for us.

Day’Ron has only just started playing bigger minutes, and that’s because he has an extremely intense way of playing. I kind of like that he can be unleashed off the bench.

That being said, Day’Ron has been fantastic, he’s been the higher impact player lately, and his conditioning has held up. At the very least he should be getting a big uptick in playing time.

  5. Sharpe can’t handle full time starter minutes. Dude is still undersized and if he’s out therefor 30 min, he’s a high injury risk. He’s a good backup ala Hartenstein

  6. Marks always trades his starting big so Clax will be gone probably this off-season. I hope the stats translate with a bigger role for DayDay

  7. Every analytics person I know loves Claxton. The only people who think otherwise are these people who think RAPM is the extent of analytics lol.

  8. Im gonna be honest, I’m not an analytic girly. I don’t know what any of these numbers mean, lol but I’m assuming “Blue” means bad and “Green” means good?

Claxton was great here especially when we had the stars but I feel his best skillset is being wasted on a team with no stars. If Claxton’s PG was Luka or Hali; it’d be Lob City and then he’ll be able to guard on the perimeter while the bigger body players battle down low for the rebounds. I want that for him again 🥲

Yes! DayDay is undersized to be the full time center but he just has more center-skills.

In the grand scheme of things, both guys aren’t championship centers but I’m fine with rolling with DayDay as the StopGap big and if a Clax trade was to happen before the deadline, it would help in the tank.

MPJ & 48 mins of competent center play is the reason why they have the 5th best odds, if you remove one of the centers and rely on Wolf to play center mins not even MPJ insane shotmaking could save that.

  9. You spin it like Sharpe is stopping somebody that Clax isn’t. Not the case. If he were, I could see your side. Instead, the narrative is that Sharpe has boards as we continue to get pummeled.

  10. Is it bad that I’m not fully sold on Day being a starter? Sure he’s made some leaps but he’s made some SERIOUS low iq plays and his on going streak of illegal screens set is good for at least one a game. I think a solid passing big man like Hartenstein is what we want in a future off season, and I still see Wolf as more of a PF.

  11. I don’t know about all that. Analytics has a place but does it tell the whole story? Does it tell how with Clax on the floor they can switch more with him? Maybe some stat geek can figure that out. I like Day a lot. I think he’s a really good backup though.
