What would be your thoughts if the Cardinals flip both Stanek and May at the 2026 trade deadline?

  1. That’s the best case scenario. That’s why teams not trying to win sign these one year deals. If it works flip him for prospects, if it doesn’t, oh well it’s one year.

  2. Yeah I assume that’s the ideal outcome.

Worst case they come in and eat some innings this year so we don’t have to burn out a young arm. Best case they pitch well and can be flipped for a meaningful prospect. Literally no risk, but could be a decent reward

  3. It would be great. In 2023 the non-competitive Royals signed Aroldis Chapman to a one year contract and flipped him at the deadline for several cheap years of Cole Ragans.

  4. Well yeah, that’s literally the only reason the Cardinals signed them, in case they suddenly became good they can be flipped.
