  1. Bruce Levine made sense. Don’t want to move off of Hoerner because the Cubs lack depth. But, there’s no free agent closers left, so if they actually feel like addressing their most questionable position left, they’ll have to make a trade. Question marks yet again

  2. Bregman may work for 2026, but that leaves out Hoerner after the 2026 season and probably others reaching free agency after the season ends. Cubs have set high expectations, aiming to be a World Series competitor in 2026.

    Bottomline….Bregman deal won't age well!

  3. Does Bregman still have the sponsorship from Rubbermaid? Asking for a friend who is a Cubs fan who lustily booed Bregman when a member of the Stros.

  4. A "Game Changer?" Really? I mean, signing Yamamoto and Shohei in the same year was a game changer. But Bregman isn't in the same league, but that's just me. You do you.

  5. I'm 95% sure Alcantara has to be on 26 man roster this opening day because of service time/contract/whatever. He's the 4th OF, and might as well play to see if he's any good. Seiya will get plenty of DH starts, so have Alcantara in RF. Also a really good CF by Cubs prospect evaluators accounts, so he backs up PCA too.

  6. Maybe I’m alone here. I’m not that excited about Bregman. If we resigned Tucker then added Bregman then yeah I’m pumped. But I’m sorry Bregman is not a good as Tucker. Tucker was clearly hurt most of last year. Just look pre injury numbers. He was on an MVP pace. He still finished with a better WAR than Bregman.
