If they insist on being the San Francisco Real Estate Giants, they could at least purchase this property that is historically significant to their own legacy in the city

  1. The southwest corner of 16th Street & Bryant previously housed the Double Play Sports Bar & Grill which stood on (part of) the site of Seals Stadium. The Double Play burned down a few years back and now the entire building is for sale.

I don’t like the Giants focusing on real estate over real baseball players any more than the next fan, but having something at this location that honors both the Giants’ and baseball’s history in the city is important to many lifelong fans/citizens. Hopefully someone involved with the organization can make something happen here.

  2. I am definitely in favor of this, if only because I watched Game 5 of the 2012 NLDS (a.k.a. the Posey slam on Latos game) here after an overnight shift at SFGH.

  3. I’ve thought they should buy the lot that Seal Stadium was on and turn it into a Negro League museum and a field dedicated to Junior Giants. There’s so much history there that shouldn’t be ignored.

  4. They are uniquely positioned to buy this and put in something cool. But instead they a slinging just another condo that is about as exciting as their off season moves.

  5. God, I miss the Double Play. So much great memories and memorabilia gone in that fire
