The Los Angeles Lakers suffered their third straight defeat on Monday when they fell 124-112 to the Sacramento Kings, but Luka Doncic had little to do with it. He did almost everything he could to give them a chance to win by scoring 42 points on 16-of-25 shooting, to go along with seven rebounds, eight assists and four steals.

He has been banged up lately, and sometimes, it may not be easy to notice, given his ability and willingness to play while hurt or even injured. He got some treatment in his upper thigh or groin area at one point during Monday’s game, and afterward, he said he isn’t sure if he will take the court when the Lakers host the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday. He even admitted he wasn’t sure if he was going to be able to play on Monday.

“I was really uncertain before the game. Warming up, I felt something. So we’re just trying to get warm and get going. But tomorrow, we’ll see how I wake up.”

Given the fact that guard Austin Reaves is still out with a gastrocnemius strain, if Doncic is unable to play on Tuesday, Los Angeles will be up against it.

Although the Hawks traded star guard Trae Young just a few days ago, they still have a young and potent team with players such as Jalen Johnson, Dyson Daniels, Nickeil Alexander-Walker and CJ McCollum who can do damage.
