Over his last 9 games, Cody "worst player in the NBA" Williams is averaging nearly 9 points on 53/29/77 splits. He has become an actual rotations minutes player and started the last 3 games.
It's pretty clear that Cody is starting to see a jump in his development. It isn't overnight like Key's development, but his performance in just these 9 games is noticeable, even compared to just a couple of months ago when he was getting DNPs and garbage time minutes only.
The biggest holes in his game as of now seem to be his 3pt shooting (only 29% in the last 9 hames) and his physicality. He is noticeably one of the best defenders on the team and runs consistent and supportive off ball actions.
He is clearly seeing a big developmental jump and could really turn into a very consistently supportive rotation player for the Jazz.

He also had a plus minus of -60 the other night.
Literal ass
he will never be a consistent support player in a team that is competing for wins. Right now he’s getting minutes because Ace is out and we are “trying to loose” . There is not a single NBA team that would put him on their bench right now and he basically has zero trade value. Not sure how to break this to you (or anyone on this sub who is trying really really hard to see something good out of him). There is just no way he’s an nba level player once his rookie contract is over.
He’s also been the teams best defender in those games
If he can continue driving to the basket, and if that 3 develops, which I think might as the jumpshot is there, he just needs to get consistent, then I think he can be a solid player in the league
I think he’s been a solid (not great) defender all season when he gets time. His shooting has been terrible, but the good news is that it isn’t short (meaning he isn’t gassed), he’s just not good enough, but his form looks good.
Bottom line: still a project. Probably won’t work out, but if the Jazz don’t get a top 3 pick, he’ll get a shot because his second contact will be cheap.
He’s still a project, but he’s gonna be good. I have higher hopes for him than Hendricks, collier, even sensabaugh. He and ace will have to shore up our defense

Cody was just so far away from having an NBA body that it was always going to be a few years before we saw real results.
Not sure that he has much of a ceiling but a versatile rotation wing is still within his range of outcomes for sure.
He won’t be on the roster next year.
This is hilarious
He’s playing off the ball well while being their top perimeter defender
