From the time of his press conference I’ve felt that Semien is going to be good for the team overall and especially the young guys. He’s a brilliant defender and he projects a stoic, under-stated leadership quality that is hard to put your finger on. Love seeing this.

People sleeping hard on Semien. Finished Top 3 in MVP voting in 2023. Gold Glove last year. Proven leader and winner. That’ll rub off on the young guys versus going for a round of golf. Fluke injury last year. If he gets his normal 600+ at bats he’ll produce.

The 2026 Mets are going to be the biggest sleeper team in the league. Folks put waaaay too much stock into what we lost.
Listening to the crack of a bat is soothing me
Very cool, Semien seems like a guy with strong leadership skills (one of the AL’s three true captains for a reason). Need to have players who have walked the walk before to show stuff to the younger guys, Soto is the only other player on the team who has won a ring but he’s still in his 20s.
Baseball is around the corner, gonna feel different this year

Everyone has laughed and make jokes about Stearns run prevention strategy… but I guarantee when you see our pitchers numbers after this year it will be night and day difference between last year. Defense in baseball is like special teams in the NFL. Such important part of the game that everyone overlooks.
You know what I’m optimistic about this season. Let’s go Mets.

Love to see it. I know Brett was working out with Lindor last year. Seems like he’s really proactive in seeking out mentorship and trying to get better. Showed dividends last season, I think this season will be a breakout for him.
Semien is already best friends with the entire team apparently lol
I like Semien practicing with these guys. He has been MVP caliber in his career, and it’s these little things that make the difference for guys coming up.
