Who would you send down, Connor Ingram or Calvin Pickard?
Pickard
The goalie discussion ie- let's throw Pickard away or stated more clearly Ingram vs Pickard
is missing 2 important aspects of team building that Tyler & Liam are missing.
It's called veteran prioritization ie- respect to a player's past, present and future performance on the team. And unfulfilled potential.
Pickard is just as hungry for a Stanley Cup as McDavid and Drai.
The guy is liked by all and has battled for you this far, to give up on him just as he has a key moment to fulfill his potential to be a Stanley Cup champion (an opportunity for him to prove) – if even in a backup role – is disrespectful to the veteran and ignores his accomplishments and dedication to the team both past and present: because his numbers are just as good as Ingram in the NHL currently; let's be honest the difference is negligible.
Sending him down/putting him on waivers is heartless and unnecessarily tears away at the fabric of the soul of the team; you have to want to win a cup for a reason and McD, Drai, Hymen, Nuge, Bouch and Wallman will play that much harder for the guy and feel that much better about winning a championship with him than without.
Jarry needs to stay injured forever. Thank God no one listened to Tyler and Skinner got traded. It took the Oilers organization to trade Skinner for a 6 million dollar goalie to get hurt before Connor Ingram finally got a chance to start. If the Oilers can't get the cup with Ingram, the Oilers won't win the cup ever.
