3. This would be a great move, best option avaible, plus he is a great defensive mind, and should be able to do a great job for the jets. Aglenn has to be able to get along with wink, AG mentioned he wants to have good communication with the DC, hopefully AG is on board, because this guy can def make the jets defense elite.

5. Hi Ian are we just trying to relive the Rex Ryan vibes. The only time in Jets history where they were relevant at all. Wink is like a Rex Ryan twin. They look a like they are both on the strong blitz style of in your face football. They are both from the Baltimore Ravens tree
   Back when the Ravens were lights out bonafide winners. However their style of play is 2000s up to 2010 style of football. So the game has passed these two by. Why do you think before Aaron Glenn got hired Rex was begging for an interview and wasn't even granted one as hometown courtesy. Because they felt he wasn't it anymore. So why would Wink deliver anymore in this generation of play. Yes he's a chess master on defense. But 2026 isn't it. You need a defensive coordinator under 40 who knows today's style of play. Not someone who last participated in the 2013 Superbowl.

6. The fan base put the coach on the hot seat and now they’re upset top assistants aren’t going to go somewhere that could be one and done for them jeopardizing their career paths. This is the bed fans made.

7. Saw some stats from his Giants years. In '22, blitzed the most in the league, 13th in sacks, tied for worst in INT (6). '23, 2nd most blitzes, 28th in sacks, but tied for 3rd in INT (18). With all the openings in the NFL, I agree, it could be slim pickings.

8. I think the Jets are gonna take their time on this. Is it the safest play? No. But if they really wanted Wink, if he was at the top of their list, he wouldve been interviewed and hired already imo.

   I think Morris might be who Glenn wants but he has to wait till Morris' schedule clears up and its a guarentee hes not getting the HC job. But i just have a feeling Morris is the guy theyre targeting.

   Also, interesting thing i didnt realize. Brian Flores is a free agent. If he doesnt get a HC job, hes available. I think he would probably go back to Minnesota. But apparently WAS is trying to interview him to be the DC there. If the Jets can get Flores to come here on an offer he cant refuse and have an under the table deal that he would be the interim HC if things go south and potential permanent HC, that could sway him. I doubt itll happen, but an interesting development in the DC search.

9. A good defense is irrelevant without atleast a halfway decent QB just ask the 2025 Browns

10. I would be surprised if Wink is hired. It would be interesting. Two stubborn dudes. It exploded with the Giants. Will Glenn let Wink do his thing? If yes… it would be a good hire and a sign that Glenn is growing up emotionally.

11. His Giants defenses didn’t really ranked great but looking at the talent on that team, the cupboard was pretty bare after Dexter Lawrence. Also they got even worse after they fired him despite adding guys like Brian Burns

12. Only thing is when he was giants dc their defense was in the middle twenties as far as def ratings. I’d hope they at least try and interview Schwartz and Leonard and morris.

15. I love aggressive, blitzing defenses. If he's bringing that to the Jets, I'm all in. The bonus is that every time they show him on TV, I get to see how badly his hat doesn't fit his head that day.

19. I would be thrilled with Wink. The fact he didn’t get along with Daboll is added plus as well.

20. Hire Wink and the Callahans to stabilize the offense and teach our O-line how to play as a unit and pick up blitz stunts along with teaching a young d QB on the bench the NFL game for a year would serve our franchise very well!!!

22. The Jets defense went the whole season without an interception that’s a first. They have to turn this defense around , because as a whole the Jets are a laughing stock.

24. It is a good job for a DC if the Jets are committed to building the D. That should be the interview talking point. In mock drafts I drafted defense 5 of the first six players. As the draft went on I added more D. At the end it was sick, terrifying. All they need is a good calling coach and yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks, but in this case, the old dog creates new tricks.

25. I feel that if the Jets pick up a legit DC, it's because Woody told them Glenn is going to have the next four years to make it happen, no matter what. And it's not irrational to think that's true due to him keeping Glenn. Wink really did well with a good HC, but was at the league's worst with a blow average head coach. They would truly be gambling on is Raven years . Now J.S is legit and would be a great DC. His D ranked high each year with the exception of one year .

37. This is why A G knows nothing! Its been 1 week and we have not removed any position coaches from a 3-14 team!! The Chargers were missing their 2 starting tackles for most of the year and made the playoffs. Today they fired their O line coach and O C. We suck complete ass and haven't fired 1 count them 1 position coaches. This is why we suck all the time. I can't take it anymore. 55 years I've been putting up with this bullshit. Think im done.

41. Aaron glenn i doubt would hire him because ag will be fired mid season next year and wink is his replacement. When ag gets fired next year whom on this staff can become the hc no one so glenn who can not coach some how knows how to get a hc job hc job he freakin knows how to keep it for at least 2 years

42. i think this could be a great hire……if they get the players. Brining in a veteran QB has to be the play and the take Reese early and see if Dallas will swap the 12th for the 16th if one of the top 3 DBs are still on the board.
