Could Buccaneers land Mike Tomlin, who has ties to Tampa?

No
Idk but that would the boldest move we ever made and I would love it.
……
We have a head coach.
Please stop beating this horse.
Maybe 2027 or mid-season.
But im not sure why anyone thinks the guy that hasn’t won a playoff game in 7 years and barely sneaks in the playoffs is a question even worth asking.
No he probably has networks lined up to pay him for his Tomlinisms.
He will at least take a season off
Tomlin taking the year off its reported. He’s sitting at home relaxing and just waiting for Bowles to fuck up next season.
I pretty sure Mike Tomlin was upset with glazers. I don’t think he’s coming back .
I live in Pennsylvania…like 2 hours from Pittsburgh…I’m not a Steelers fan…I’m not a Tomlin fan…should be enough said
If this would happen all we’d be doing would be coming on here to complain about him as much as the current leadership
Not unless you trade for him, even then he might just go into TV
Please GOD.
The Tomlin hate is wild and reminds me of Vrabel’s time with the Titans. You’re gonna see the criticism of him vanish when Steelers fall off a cliff and the next organization he coaches for takes off.
We would be so lucky to have Tomlin, but I don’t think it’s realistic. We already have a HC 🤢
Land?
I would call Todd tonight and tell him to get his shit out of his office by noon tomorrow if i could get Tomlin. Tomlin has not had a good quarterback dating back to the days before Ben got fat. Tomlin would instantly install discipline and respect. Todd please just go away.
Meh
I mean yeah they *could* land him. Doesn’t mean they necessarily will or won’t. We don’t know a damn thing about the Glazer thought process.
I do know one thing. Neither the Buccaneers, Glazers, or Licht released a statement or confirmed with the press that Bowles’ job is safe. All we got was Rick Stroud telling us he received a text from Bowles
Take from that what you will
Here’s my take as a Pittsburgh resident that roots for the Steelers as long as they’re not playing the Bucs.
Tomlin is a very good coach, but what he’s best at is getting a lot (or at least something) out of mediocre players. He went .500 with Mason Rudolph and Duck Hodges at QB.
The issue is the other side of the same coin. When he has good teams, they seem to play down. They drop games they have no business dropping, and it turns 12-14 win teams into 9-10 win teams. Their playoff losing streak isn’t bad luck, it’s fumbling themselves into a worse seed and a tougher matchup than they should have (or alternatively just barely scraping their way in and playing a decent team).
He seems reluctant to surround himself with excellence when it comes to assistants (funny enough, Arians is probably his most well known assistant), which has really hurt them offensively, basically ever since Ben Roethlisberger stopped being de facto OC. He wants to be the big figure in the room.
All this to say – I do think he’s a really good coach, but I don’t think he’s a good fit, even if we got rid of Bowles. He’s basically Todd Bowles if Todd Bowles was as good as Todd Bowles thinks Todd Bowles is. What we need is a coach that is capable of unleashing the potential we have on offense. Tomlin is not that guy, and he’s probably not going to be willing to hire that guy either.
He belongs with the Jets or the Raiders where he can squeeze every ounce out of those rosters, and the fan base will revere him if he can find ten wins every few years.
I don’t get all the love for Tomlin. We’re keeping Bowles, which I don’t love, but we need to focus on getting a young coach to build his program, here, for the long term future
Love how I got the mods deleting my post where I asked this earlier 🤦♂️
Sounds like he’s going media for at least one year. Would love to have him next year after what I imagine would be another crappy season
