It’s a Tuesday night people have to work fight traffic get ready for the game usually get food before and the game started at like 7 hard to get there right at tip
It’s the traffic and driving distance
Getting back home from work alone can make you late to the game, not to mention you have to drive downtown and park and walk
Not to be that guy but really wish we had better public transportation to the game. Maybe Tilman can team up with Metro to have special park and ride bus for Toyota center travel.
People don’t know about the traffic in 45 and it shows
KD really seems to fw Houston as a home. Must be that Texas connection from his UT days

He’s absolutely right. When I go a few times a year, I’m usually going to be late, especially if it’s a weeknight. Sometimes it’s just the traffic from work and moving slow with a small kid. But if Toyota Center had better food/dining/entertainment options I would be more inclined to show up early. Could say the same thing about NRG.
Minute Maid is by far the best in town. Tons of local food options, interactive stuff for kids, standing room to watch the field of play, I could go on. I’ll always take a least two laps around to get a beer and soak in the ballpark vibe. Going to the Rockets on Thurs and will be getting dinner before bc I don’t want what they’re offering. Even UH’s stadium is more exciting.
Toyota and NRG have become so extremely stale. People will pack the stands if the team is good but don’t expect us to be early if I can’t get a decent taco or something before the game. Almost always on time for a ‘stros game unless I get caught in the line entering.
That post is also ridiculous for not mentioning it’s Tuesday. A work day. In a giant, busy city. Not only is traffic bad but a majority of people want to go home and wind down. This isn’t a convenient weekend activity.
So I was there tonight and it was packed about start of 2nd quarter seats almost full. The traffic is just sooo bad people end up late.
They should do away with that VIP area in the 100s and stop giving away seats to sponsors since most of the time they can’t fill them
Speed up the lines to get inside.
Feels like the harden rockets were always packed. Even with KD, rocket games aren’t filled out
The game was a sellout(18,055).
