Mike Tomlin NOT AN OPTION for Tennessee Titans Head Coach & Best Fits for Coordinator Positions

Mike Tomlin is one of the best coaches in the NFL over the last 20 years and while the Tennessee Titans might jump at the opportunity to hire him, the reality of the situation is Tomlin is not an option for the Titans or anyone else. They may sound like bad news, but this Steeler opening is not as good as the Titans and it should not impact the Titans ability to get the best candidate. The Titans are now up to 19 candidates in their coaching search and not all of them would have been seriously considered as head coach options, which makes you wonder who among the names would actually make sense as a coordinator. Kliff Kingsbury and Mike McDaniel would be the best options on the offensive side of the ball, but on defense, Raheem Morris and Johnathan Gannon also have a great resume.

  2. I'm glad you brought up denard Wilson, I was hoping you would…. Under what circumstances does he not keep his job? The new head coach wants to pick his own DC… Locked on commanders is already talking about denard Wilson is their DC. I personally don't want to see him go, unless it means that somebody like harbaugh wants to pick his own….. Is it just kind of a foregone conclusion that denard is losing his job?… I'd like to add that the Titans were in a lot of games this year up till halftime, and even later, thanks to their defense. I think denard really got the most out of his squad. And that defense, they sure did seem to stay together and focused and upbeat, played hard as hell till the end of games, Even though it was off to the lost cause. Especially towards the end of the season when it definitely was a lost cause..

  11. Help me to understand Tyler, I thought a newly hired head coach has a say in the OC hire? Kingsbury may have an air raid offensive philosophy and a new head coach may have very different offensive philosophy, how does that work when you pair two opposing philosophies together in head coach and OC?

  15. IMO tomlin needs three years to four years off lol. He needs to essentially spend two years in college in the school of college football and spread offenses to learn how to help qbs and what go through then he needs two years in the school of Andy Reid to learn how to apply that logic to NFL circles

  24. Two guys Id add to the coordinator list (though we haven't interviewed them) is Eric Bieniemy (OC) and Jim Schwartz (DC).

    Bieniemy is an experienced OC that has obvious ties to the KC organization.

  28. definitely don't think you guys should want Daboll as HC. Definitely not. But as OC, not a terrible option. I would have some concerns (apparently he has had issues getting along with other coaches) but I think it could be a solid option. And I know he likes Cam Ward. I know he LOVES Jaxson Dart, but let's face it: the Giants weren't trying to trade up to #1 last year to get Jaxson Dart. It was to get Cam Ward. Then they had to pivot to Jaxson Dart. So I think he could be a decent OC option for Cam Ward, and probably not a high risk of him getting another HC opportunity anytime soon, but I would try to get a better option though for OC
