  1. I only want this to happen if the Padres immediately give him an extension, much like what Dodgers did to Glasnow, or Red Sox with Crochet. No fooling around with 1-year rentals, only to have them leave, then dealing MORE prospects for ANOTHER rental. Offer the guy a 4-5 year deal and keep him away from the open market.

  2. 1:20 Why is the goal simply to win 90 games in the regular season? Is that what success is in SD! What about AJ’s words that his job is to win WS? This might be his last chance. 12 years is a long time to chase a championship. We are in this mess with starting pitching because AJ trades away pitching and position player depth, Kolek and Bergert would be nice to have right now. Trading away more peces for yet another 1 year rental is the same thing he’s done for years now. That and overpaying on contracts for players that are unclutch in the postseason when the lights are the brightest. Same old tired tricks. Time for AJ to show he’s the genius people seem to think he is. Win a title for SD or step aside and let someone else try.

  3. Let's not forget other teams that are interested also have other players on their roster and in their system that might look better than what the Padres have to offer.

  4. Do the Padres need another top of the rotation pitcher or would they be better off signing someone like Bassitt who could be the #4 starter?
