  2. The fact Kyshawn George, Jalen Brunson, Jamal Murray, James Harden and others are on this list should tell you this is a trash metric

  3. From my eye test, he’s always been a good 1-on-1 defender. But he loses his guy off-ball a lot, he can’t get through screens, and he fouls a ton. Honestly, the fouls might be why he’s so low on this list lol.

  4. Now show the clips where he constantly loses his man off ball and our defense gets broken down because of it .

    1v1 defense is important . But in today’s game off ball defense matters just as much. Long gone are the days of stagnant ball , iso ball

  6. Now let’s go look at all the data that says his team is much better defensively when he’s off the floor and it’s been like that for his entire career. I was willing to assume the data was noisy with Trae and a bad hawks defense, but he’s just lost off ball.
