Pretty cheap for somebody getting first line minutes. That’s really nothing in the grand scheme of things. Glad he’s sticking around.
I suppose management see his skills as useful on the 3rd or 4th line going forward.

I wonder what it means for other players like Dach, Veleno and Blais. We have now 11 forwards players under contract for next season, and it’s hard to imagine Bolduc isn’t getting an extension, so in reality it’s 12 forwards.
For a guy that seems able to play up and down the lineup it’s a nice little deal to hold over a roster spot while the young guys get up to speed.

This is a no lose kind of deal. Not too much money or term that it can’t be flushed if needed, but also really cheap for a piece who can play on 3 different lines if needed.

Has shown an ability to play and up and down the line up and at that cap hit even if he ends up closer to the 4th line player he was signed as it’ll be fine value.
IMO this signature means it might be the end for Dach and Laine with us. If they had high confidence about one of those two we would have waited after their return before extending him, because he would have played less quality minutes and his value would have stayed low.

Le gars peut jouer en avantage et désavantage, bon gabarit et il l’utilise, peut jouer n’importe où sur un top 9, il est exactement avec Newhook le genre de joueurs de profondeurs qui t’aident à gagner quand il y a des blessés (genre Dach). Tres bonne signature. Texier sur une 3e ligne avec Anderson pis Danault ça pourrait être spécial.

Solid solid deal. Everyone saying that was quick from KH but look how quick texier fell in love with this city/team. Players want to sign in MTL right now.
Happy for him and it’s only 2 years, not much risk.
Big body, can grind for the puck, has hands, can score. His passing/vision isn’t amazing but I’m sure that’ll improve a bit as he gets used to the Habs system and the speed that they play with. Gotta remember he hasn’t played much recently. So there’s definitely potential with this guy.
2.5m is nothing.
a little bit of security/stability for him, hopefully helps him stay as focused and productive as he has been!
anyone else been impressed by his physical game? i didn’t expect him to be throwing many hits or being as chippy as he has been, but hes had a few good ones and doesnt back out of scrums from what ive seen.
